To wait to responsibly dispose of cooking oil in a container

Kids made fried chicken and the cooking oil has been sitting in a deep pan for 4 days. What do people normally do? I’m not used to deep-frying, I was going to wait to dispose of it in a suitable container but OH says pour it down the sink…

I don’t deep fry stuff but my nan (who never lets ANYTHING go to waste) would use up that oil for everything until it was gone.

My son does this from time to time. First of all I reuse, I use a seive and repour it back in the original container. Then I reuse once or twice. Then I eventually put with the non recyclable bin. But would like a better solution.
