Charlie-boy has in the past been caught with plastic bags full of hundreds of thousands of pounds (Prince Charles accepted carrier bag full of cash as a charity donation from Qatar ex-PM, claims Sunday Times | UK News | Sky News); having an affair with a woman while married and making jokes about tampons( Royally Embarrassing: King Charles' Tampon Dreams Involving Queen Camilla That Made the Palace Blush | People - Times Now )- now his brother has been caught out selling state secrets for sex Police urge Andrew’s protection officers to come forward with what they ‘saw or heard’ – as it happened | UK news | The Guardian) and incriminatimg police officers- can we still hold them in high regard while they act worse than gangsters?
I mean, we sort of dislike working-class shop-lifters and people who rob banks- is it okay to still adore people who loot the UK for hundreds of millions each year for their personal satisfaction? The amount of benefits they receive is far, far beyond the income of the poor sods who shop-lift supermarkets for some bottles of booze, yet they get imprisoned and the idiot Charles get to fly around the world to lecture us on the environmental harm of flying.

Metropolitan Police also working with US counterparts to establish whether London airports had been used to ‘facilitate human trafficking and sexual exploitation’

It’ll be the end of Andrew but not the monarchy, which has been around for more than a thousand years with far worst scandals than this, I would imagine. The Camilla tapes and the cash thing, if it’s true, are not on the scale of what Andrew has done.

The king (“Charlie-boy”?) has done everything he can to unlink him from the family and he will now be removed from succession by the government. He also needs his security removed. That is an absolute outrage that he gets protection still.

So YABU it won’t be the end of the monarchy.

They own the land.

Are they still going to keep that or who’s getting it instead, and how is it going to be used?

I do not like inherited privilege and wealth but I do wonder who is gaining from all this. It is clear we cannot trust our government in Britain - any more than inherited privilege. The two are often linked of course, and the Magna Carta was never about the wellbeing of the plebs in a conquered nation.

Absolutely not the end. People like the drama and there’d never be agreement on the alternative. It’d be like Brexit but worse. Ten times worse.

Plus disentangling the finances would be an expensive nightmare, the individuals would still have a loyal following and be in the press, so you wouldn’t be rid of them.

And in 11 years you’d have the Glorious Restoration, when a grateful nation asks them to come back.

The monarchy survived Henry VIII.

it survived the civil war

it survived the abdication.

it will survive this,
