Constipation along with acid reflux

6 year old son suffers with constipation and has done for years. But started to have laxido to try to ease that but now getting what I think to be acid reflux. He seems to do a little cough maybe when a sick feeling is there. Has anyones children had similar?

Yes my 7 year old will get reflux with constipation as do I. Sort the constipation (up the laxido dose) and the reflux should ease. GP did also prescribe gaviscon for daughter to take when bad , she was having trouble sleeping with it

Thank you so much for your reply. I thought it might have been acid reflux. My sons had an ultrasound and it's shown he was really impacted in his colon. So we've done the disimpaction routine on laxido and it seemed to work but then it seemed to start again after the routine. But now I think it's more to do with the acid reflux that's stopping him wanting to eat. I'll see what the doctor says. Did your child have to have tests done to confirm the acid reflux? X

No they just went on symptoms. My older child also had it quite bad (she doesn't have constipation). We ended up under peads. Diagnosed with gastritis. Had omezrapol high dose for 3 months and had started to clear up in a week or so. It's miserable for them.

Okay just don't want him to have to have anything invasive, unless really needed. I didn't know it was a common symptom alongside constipation but guessing it does make sense x
