To ask if anyone has experience of job hunting via recruitment agencies?

I've worked as a supply teacher before, but I'm now applying for local council roles via recruitment agencies (As well as permanent)

I've been shortlisted by 3 and all have submitted my CV to the hiring manager (2 agencies told me I hadn't passed shortlisting with them)

I've heard councils can be slow when it comes to recruitment, the agencies have informed me they'll update me as soon as they have any further information but one just told me they usually only get back in touch if you've been successful, so it's all a bit of a waiting game.

Has anyone else got experience of this?

Not teaching but secretarial PA work. However my friend got supply teaching work through an agency.

I think it sounds like a waiting game due to council.

Thanks for your info, id rather they got in touch even if I were unsuccessful as then I'd know, but I know a lot of companies don't do this as standard.
