Thinking a bit ahead as DC is in year 10 but has to apply for year 12 at the end of this year. Currently doing theatre at a performing arts schools, they enjoy acting but finding it hard. We didn’t want to discourage it but we knew acting is an extremely difficult and competitive career and not sure is the right path for them, they are finding this out themselves. They always said they don’t want to do office work. I am thinking perhaps moving to film and media production or maybe production arts, or visual arts may be a better choice.
Appreciate this is higher education but this is where they are heading in a few years so need to choose carefully. We don’t regret them studying theatre as there are lots of transferable skills.
Any ideas welcome.
