To boycott Frida baby over the disgusting marketing

Lifelifelife21 · 15/02/2026 20:58

I own so many frida baby products I can’t believe I was oblivious to the completely inappropriate sexual references in their packaging and marketing.

Maybe some of the language could be funny and appeal to millennial parents but at some stage they’ve just started taking it disgustingly too far.

Some of the most disgusting include:

  • Post with a photo of a baby’s face with a snot like substance on and caption that says ‘what happens when you pull out too early’
  • 3 in 1 thermometer advert captioned ‘the closest your husband’s gonna get to a threesome’
  • General jokes about quickies and stuff

I mean who is doing their marketing?!

Guess this is to promote them then

This is at least the third thread about Fridababy in the last few days.

I've seen a few things re this pop up on my Facebook recently - is it actually real? I assumed it was a (sick) joke! I've looked at the Frida stuff before too and never noticed this - maybe it's a new marketing campaign?

Rolluprollupadvice · 15/02/2026 21:04

I think it depends on what you consider a “success”. Has the controversy lead to increase sales?
Youre talking about it so it might be working? I don’t know the brand yet I’ve seen multiple threads today.
Its a risky strategy but it’s paid off before for brands (while one would argue has backfired more)

Promote them?! It’s the opposite. It’s making people aware so they can consider whether they still want to buy their products. I personally wont be..

And I haven’t seen any other threads about this! Didn’t realise there had been any.

Im pretty certain it’s real. People have posted videos of the packaging.

I hadn't heard of this brand before this weekend and now I've seen three threads, is it guerilla marketing ?

Typical mumsnet conspiracy theorists! of course I’m not connected to the company.

Are there seriously mums out there who are now going to START buying frida baby products as a result of this being brought to their attention??

When people post threads complaining about Trump is that his marketing team too?

No this seems to be a digital marketing campaign.

LightYearsAgo · 15/02/2026 21:19

Well anything that raises brand awareness could be positive, if I haven't heard of them I'm definitely won't be buying anything.

Multiple threads about the same brand led to me googling them so maybe I will buy something in the future

Disagree. You don’t need to have heard of the brand to end up buying from them.

If you search for common baby / postpartum items like postpartum pants, pads, baby bath jug, thermometer etc. they are typically the first brand that come back. I’ve bought so many products of there’s but now that I know this, I won’t be buying anything more.

If paedophilic jokes make you more likely to buy from a brand then that’s something I can’t relate to.
