To think it’s odd that my colleague said this

There was chocolate on a seat in the office he announced he couldn’t sit there as he would have a chocolate bum. Aibu to think at work you quickly clean it and carry on with your day

I wouldn't deep it.
Just a light hearted comment

Marmalademorning · 15/02/2026 19:31

I think you are overthinking it and making something out of nothing.

OriginalSkang · 15/02/2026 19:32

It sounds quite innocuous to me

ScarlettSarah · 15/02/2026 19:37

I think he didn't react exactly as you imagined you would react. That doesn't mean he behaved oddly.

saltandvinegarpringles · 15/02/2026 19:39

What an overreaction (you, not him).

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 15/02/2026 19:40

I'd call 101 and, without wishing to worry anyone, hope that they could instruct a covert SWAT team (or the SAS, whoever is available first) to come and remove the 'said chocolate', remove it to a safe place and subject it to a controlled explosion.
(But I can be a bit dramatic, BUT one can't be too careful these days...) 😰

Mayflowerz · 15/02/2026 19:43

Are we talking about a piece of chocolate that could be put in the bin or was it melted?
Was this a fabric seat of a plastic/leather chair?

The answers to the above matter.

BillieWiper · 15/02/2026 19:43

There was in unwrapped piece of chocolate on a chair? Why?

If it was wrapped I would just move it. If it wasn't it would have rubbed into the chair or my clothes so no I wouldn't sit on it. Not would I clean it up if I didn't put it there.

But I wouldn't dwell on the subject of someone else's reaction to it either.

Thepeopleversuswork · 15/02/2026 19:44

This has got to be one of the most overthought posts I’ve ever read on here and the bar is low. Its a nothing burger.

Nodealordeal · 15/02/2026 19:46

If it was melted/hardened chocolate into a seat then I wouldn’t sit on it either. Cleaning it you can’t always tell if it’s totally gone if it’s a dark or patterned chair. If there was other seats I would have sat somewhere else. I don’t see what the issue is?

LeafyMcLeafFace · 15/02/2026 19:47

Your response to this is very strange

BauhausOfEliott · 15/02/2026 19:48

Your colleague isn’t the odd one here.

Fearlesssloth · 15/02/2026 19:49

Can’t believe people are actually replying to this

lifeisgoodrightnow · 15/02/2026 20:12

Grow up

sweeneytoddsrazor · 15/02/2026 20:16

I wouldn't have sat on it, probably wouldn't have said chocolate bum but almost certainly would have said ifnI sit on that I will look like I shit myself

Tacohill · 15/02/2026 21:04

Surely whoever had chocolate on that seat should clean it up.

Hes not BU to not want to sit on a dirty chair or clean up after someone else.

No different to you posting on the same thread.

somanychristmaslights · 15/02/2026 21:24

I had to read your post a few times, thinking I’d missed something. Why on earth are you giving it head space?? I wouldn’t sit on a chocolate seat either. Even if he cleaned it, it would be wet.
