What does this star symbol mean in his garden?

I cant take a photo because the owner sits in the bay window staring at people. I cant find an image online.

A man has renovated his front yard. He has paved it all. In the middle of the pavers is a star symbol. Sort of like this picture but maybe with a different number of points.

Below the star is a series of symbols. Maybe 5. Some of them look like bits cut off the star eg the top point but others dont. It looks especially made.

As far as I'm aware it doesnt relate to anything local.

What does it mean? 🤣 If it's an elaborate prank to frustrate passer-bys, it's working!

Ask him!

Stuckstuckstuckfuck · 15/02/2026 18:46

I wonder whether it's a fancy pentagon and I've misrembered the symbols?

Is it easy enough to have another longer look when you pass by?

Tacohill · 15/02/2026 18:53

Can you not draw a picture?
Its difficult to tell without an actual image.

I suspect its a nice pattern that he thought looked good.

I’d hate to live in your neighbourhood, it seems like it’s the talk of the village!

Clementine12 · 15/02/2026 18:54

Doesn’t bear any resemblance to the Masonic star and symbols?

Or pagan pentacle and associated symbols?

Dollymylove · 15/02/2026 18:56

Its something you can buy from the Range to jazz up your paved patio.
Thats it. No witch craft, nothing sinister, just that. Sorry to disappoint you 🤣🤣

NewGirlInTown · 15/02/2026 19:05

It sounds like the David Bowie ‘Blackstar’ symbol, where the star is broken up to spell out a stylised ‘Bowie’ underneath.
Must be quite a fan if this is the case! 😁

Absolutely! It’s probably just a decorative slab. Nothing symbolic or meaningful.
How intrusive to have people so nosy that they are contemplating taking photos to post online and are staging walk-pasts to get a better look.

socialdilemmawhattodo · 15/02/2026 19:20

Have you tried a flattery question. Eg John, what an interesting design? Is that particular to your job/ local area/ interest? Gosh what does that symbol [ choose the strangest] mean? Do feed back!

I will check against that too!

That's very specialist if it is! 🤣

So pentagon or Bowie are the top possibilities.

That was my thought as well, especially saying the symbols looked like parts of the star, maybe he's a huge Bowie fan?

There is a local link with The Spiders From Mars so maybe not so random?
I will compare it tomorrow but I think you are right.

OutTheWayOut · 15/02/2026 20:55

The Illuminati have moved into landscaping.

Barrellturn · 15/02/2026 20:59

Just go and buy a drone so you can get us a photo please. It's hardly too much to ask.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 15/02/2026 21:35

Being a Bowie fan is hardly niche!

Quite so.
But paving your front garden to display that, is!

Kalanthe · 15/02/2026 22:13

NATO symbol 😂

Maybe he just thought it’s a cool thing to have on your patio and it doesn’t symbolise anything

Pentagram or Pentagon?

Are you thinking he is one of Pete Hegseth's dude bros?

Indeed. I have a few Laughing Gnomes in my garden.
