I’d love a housekeeper to keep on top of everything, laundry, making sure everything’s clean etc. I absolutely hate the relentless pressure of cleaning but my OCD makes sure I do it!

A PA to deal with all post, e-mails and any other correspondence.
I am happy to cook, clean, do washing and ironing, but the mountain of post that hits me is overwhelming.

These jobs are often on Greycoat Lumleys. £75k is a pretty standard starting salary. PA/Housekeeper experience for UHNW families is usually needed, plus working on private yachts etc.

That’s not much for being at the beck and call of the boss 24/7

Eddiestrangerthings · 13/02/2026 16:41

a driver to take me across the country

WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing · 13/02/2026 16:42

Pay off the kids student loans and buy them a property each. The weight off my mind would be immense.

When my niece was about 7, she told me she'd buy a slave when she was rich. After a bit of careful questioning it turned out she meant she'd hire a cleaner !

GottaBeStrong · 13/02/2026 17:06

A starlift, an adjustable bed, and a reclining arm chair.

Electricity to my outbuilding so I could have a bigger freezer.

A cleaner twice a week.

Eta: maybe a downstairs toilet.

ginasevern · 13/02/2026 17:22

A brand new car that I could change every couple of years. I've never owned one. All my cars have been at least 12 years old and I'm now in my late sixties. For clarity I'd like one for peace of mind (ie starting in the morning), not for vanity!

A studio flat in Covent Garden or Soho. I love living where I do (West Country) but I also love theatre and opera and art. If I had my fantasy flat I’d be able to spend time in London doing all of these and the walk back to my little flat..

Yogabearmous · 13/02/2026 17:33

A live in Hair dresser. So I might look normal in the mornings

Ooh I like this. Can just imagine it.

Try a real silk pillowcase! They help.

RainbowLife · 13/02/2026 17:37

A school, complete with staff, maybe also a hospital, dentist and kitten.

MargaretThursday · 13/02/2026 17:37

I'd expand the house to have a library and craft room.
With a private key only I have 😁

WizdomE · 13/02/2026 17:39

Racehorse

yorkshiretoffee · 13/02/2026 18:03

Family driver. Kids are teens so I'd be happy for them to travel solo with my driver and the taxi years would be over.

I do quite fancy a smart bath though, even though I never have baths.

PurpleLovecats · 13/02/2026 18:09

I’d pay for a private psychiatrist assessment and inpatient stay to get better.

Also a robot vaccuum cleaner.

Housekeeper slash Life Admin person.

Someone who would keep on top of all the little housey bits that crop up, plus also diarise and proactively do utility and insurance comparisons and all that kind of stuff. Bonus if they can also take all the stuff in my car boot to the various charity shop and donation points too. Basically take the clutter out of my brain.

Just like most DHs have (just being light-hearted).

Yes I would like a housekeeper (if it includes cleaning and the boring bits of the gardening plus laundry)

You need two kittens.

Vivienne1000 · 13/02/2026 18:30

If I won the lottery, I would have the lot, a gardener, cleaner, decorator, car valeter, handyman, window cleaner - yes it would be fabulous. But best crack on, as the reality is very different!

Pollqueen · 13/02/2026 18:44

A yacht, which is would live on

Helicopter to go everywhere. Waitrose, postbox. Everywhere. I would just hop in and crank her up. If I couldn't land in Waitrose carpark I would just hover over the door and lower a wicker basket and get one of the staff to go round as I used my loud hailer to say what I wanted and get them to do the Scanpaygo machine, load my basket and winch it up. I would then fly off by doing an aggressive turn like on Airwolf and fly home before anything melted that needed the freezer quickly.

Chinsupmeloves · 13/02/2026 18:51

Household staff and a personal masseur!

Flamingojune · 13/02/2026 18:55

An extension, a ground/air source heat pump, solar panels, green roof, passive house, electric bike

Lavender14 · 13/02/2026 19:03

A handyman for all DIY jobs that I don't feel confident to tackle
A gardener who can create a lovely garden but also teach me how to grow sustainably.

A decent car (nothing fancy but a good boot and more leg space and reliable)
A personal trainer and the childcare to be able to attend it.

A home of my own.
