AIBU to assume there's no claim being made against my insurance?

I was in a minor car accident late November 2025. Some very minor damage to my front bumper - no repairs needed to pass MOT (which it's just done). Their car was more damaged, and I took photos of that. They didn't suggest they were injured and there were no passengers.

The other party claimed it was my fault, which I disputed at the scene. We exchanged insurance details. They were aggressive at the scene, filming me and wanting me to admit liability. I didn't. I did call the police at the scene because of their behaviour. The police weren't interested.

I reported it to my insurance company the next day. I've heard nothing at all since. How long is long enough to assume that the other party are not going to try and make a claim? AIBU to think that 2.5 months later, having heard nothing, they're not going to try and claim?

if they’ve claimed against your insurance you don’t tend to hear much until it comes to your renewal - if you already made your company away just give them a call and ask if any claim was made.
