Anyone used Imodium ? Does it work ?

I've got a 'nervous ' tummy which happens when I travel. I've become travel phobic, to coin a phrase. I am so worried that I'll mess myself that I find it very hard to travel. Anywhere.
I am taking Sertraline and Propanol for anxiety. We're supposed to be meeting family at the weekend but I am already stressing about it. What if I need the toilet ? What if I can't get to a toilet ,? What if I mess myself because I didn't get to the toilet ?
So I was wondering if taking Imodium as a pre-emptive measure would work ? Or buy, and wear, incontinence pads
Or am I being too paranoid and unrealistic ? Would it work ?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Yes it does work if you take it in advance. My son has an over-active stoma and we use immodium to calm things down.

Good luck, it's miserable to live like that.

Don't you just buy loperamide for about £1?
@MarxistMags be very careful before you start to take anti diarrhoea medication. You could become constipated and get overflow. Don't mess around with your bowels. Start to find other anti anxiety methods.

I have IBS and occasionally use it for flights etc. Any brand is fine, the supermarket own brand is a lot cheaper but the same thing. If you get cramps then buscopan is also great, I’ve used both together in the past.

Im also on anti-ds and didn’t realise you’re not supposed to take Imodium??

Loperamide is imodium.

It's a damned sight dearer than that here! We fortunately can get it on prescription.
