Help from any dentists!!

Help!

I had a tooth extracted 10 days ago. I went back to the dentist today after noticing some fibres in my socket.
Turns out they had packed it with alevogel and it was working its way out. She said that she would replace it today just to be on the safe side although I had no pain or anything so this was replaced.

However when can I eat and drink again?

I am starving and very thirsty but I don't know how long I need to leave it.

As I say she was happy with healing and no dry socket etc it's purely preventative.

Help!!

@MemorableLlama this was the problem it's all about being numb and blood clot but I don't have that scenario as it's preventative haha

Is there a reason you can’t call your dentist and ask?

romantasylife · 05/02/2026 10:06

@fluffiphlox they were closed when I posted this.

You can eat and drink straight away.

I don't know why they've packed the socket with alvogel though or repacked it if you don't have a dry socket.
