Vinted and the post!

Vinted...

Recently, they've lost two parcels between me and the buyer. One they said that I hadn't posted it when I had done. They wanted proof of postage. I could tell them an exact time as I posted another one at the same time.

Just over two weeks ago, I posted a parcel. It registered as 'sent.' The buyer kept asking where it was as it took a while. Yesterday, they got told it was at their Post Office. They went to collect it. It wasn't there. Vinted online said they had collected it. Next news, someone was knocking on my door.. with the very same parcel.... Grrrr.

The sticker on the parcel said that the parcel had been returned to me as it hadn't been ordered by the buyer.

Lunacy.

I've tried to flag this via Vinted online but the chat bot keeps telling me it's helped me when it hasn't!! It's maddening.

What's going on with Vinted!??

Which shipping option?

Vinted isn't the shipping company. This is an issue with them

Arlanymor · 03/02/2026 17:33

These are two issues - Vinted updating incorrectly on the delivery status from what you've said? If Vinted aren't helping with this you just need to keep up good comms with your buyer and send a message once posted which includes the tracking number so they can follow the journey of the delivery themselves too.

But the main issue is with whichever delivery service YOU are using - the Post Office? That's nothing to do with Vinted to be fair to them. Plus every parcel you post with the PO is trackable - they print a receipt and the tracker is on there, not just for special delivery, this is the same for first and second class.

It isn't Vinted, or at least not Vinted alone. Which delivery option were you using? Was it Royal Mail given that you've mentioned the Post Office?

Proof of posting, as in a paper receipt, should have been given to you when you dropped the parcels off.

Bahhumbug67 · 03/02/2026 20:13

Hi, it was InPost.

If it was InPost, did you drop the parcels off at an InPost locker?

ColdAsAWitches · 03/02/2026 21:06

None of your problems are with vinted. And it's on you to keep track of parcels. "I sent another one at the same time" isn't proof of postage!

SilenceInside · 04/02/2026 08:23

@Bahhumbug67 tbh it sounds confusing from your end as you talk about the Post Office, and items being returned to your house which doesn't sound at all like how InPost operates via the lockers. It's difficult to give you any advice without any more detail about what you actually did with each parcel.

If you put the parcel in an InPost locker you should have had confirmation from InPost separately to Vinted that you'd dropped the item off. If you haven't already, get the InPost app and then you will be able to access the information about your parcels directly rather than via Vinted.

Evri and others are integrated into vinted. Recommend using them as it's much easier to deal with delays and losses through vinted.

Agree with others, vinted hasnt lost anything. It's just a sales platform and your postal service is the issue. You should have tracking slips/confirmations regardless of who you used.

Yep, this. The second story can’t have happened with InPost, and the first one you should have had your proof of postage from InPost so you could’ve provided that to Vinted.
