I’m going in for a 4 hour medical procedure. It will basically be me sitting in a recliner trying not to think too much about the discomfort and occasionally having nurses check on things. I’m bringing a book and an iPad mini with some movies or tv shows loaded.

I need something engaging, but not too complicated because I will get interrupted and I may not feel great. I tend to like a wide variety of movies. Tv skews towards serialized stories and science fiction.

I recently watched Keeping Mum with Maggie Smith, Rowan Atkinson and Kirstin Scott Thomas. Completely absorbing, great fun and a fantastic twist at the end.

TV Shows - I binge-watched all of 'Wonder Man' over the weekend. It's a Marvel show but even if you know nothing about it you could enjoy it (having watched 'Iron Man 3' would help). Episode 4 in particular was really good.

If you liked the Alien movies then 'Alien: Earth' was worth a watch. It's been renewed for a second season I believe!

Movies - My favourite is 'Orphan' but I'm a horror buff so if you're not into that genre it won't be your cup of tea.

'Searching' and 'Missing' were both great twisty-turvy movies, maybe not the ones to watch if you're going to get lots of interruptions though.

For anyone interested, I went with “The Thursday Murder Club”. My procedure was a breeze and that was all I ended up having time to watch. I came home and had a 6 hour nap.

I love ‘Little Miss Sunshine’. Really quirky and really funny, and the amazing, amazing Toni Collette is in it too!

I saw Freakier Friday on a plane recently. I enjoyed that.

My favorurite fiilm is Mamma Mia. I would probably watch that because I would find it comforting.

@TutorpuzzleI also love Little Miss Sunshine! At the weekend I watched Captain Fantastic which is also about a dysfunctional family and a road trip, quite quirky but would recommend it

Was it good? Must confess I read the book and found it difficult to read, I found Elizabeth particularly annoying.

Glad your procedure went okay ❤

It was the right level of enough story to keep me intrigued and not complicated enough that it didn’t matter that I was interrupted and distracted. “Good”, not exactly. Fluffy and mildly entertaining, yes. I would definitely recommend it for someone in similar circumstances.

Bridgerton. Colourful. Fluffy. Not mentally challenging or stressful to watch.
