Is this benefitting her or women in general? I’m really unimpressed

nb: this post is about Emily atack and her latest extremely sexual photos in the press

Why why why!!!!! She’s already successful, lots of money, seemingly intelligent and has a child and partner. Why why why do women keep wanting to come across as sex dolls? I really don’t understand especially as she has spoken about her experience of sexual assault before. Do so many women feel like the most important thing to them in life is still being classed as a ‘wanted, needed by men, sexual being’ above everything else? This can’t be for money purposes.

Is this benefitting her or women in general? I’m really unimpressed

I didn't say she deserves it but if she were not doing it then there would certainly be a lower chance of it. She's made her choice.

and your life choices appear to include misogyny and victim blaming. Nice

If that’s the case then they’ll be surprised to hear that not everyone is buying underwear to be immediately removed by a man.

I buy my fancy underwear to make myself feel good and to be appreciated by other women.

And I buy "sexy" balcony bras and plunge bras because they sit better under a dress I intend to wear all night

I sometimes buy underwear because it looks good as part of an outfit in a way a plain t shirt bra just can’t compete.

What bothers me is that why don’t we see young men shown like this as frequently? What’s good for the goose etc.

Did you miss the Jeremy Allen White Calvin Klein ad where he was stripping off and doing pull ups with his crotch to the camera? Maybe the Bad Bunny CK ad where his jeans are hanging down juuust below his bulge and he’s gyrating? The BOSS David Beckham boxers ad? There aren’t as many high end men’s underwear brands but the ones there are really don’t shy away from objectifying their models on camera

justsoveryodd · 03/02/2026 16:10

You can all go along with the " I can wear what I like" etc - fine but don't object when people see your bits when you're in the pub and you get comments. Men need to be better mannered - yes I agree BUT the reality is show your Fanny off and people of both sexes will look and possibly comment.

Ionlymakejokestodistractmyself · 03/02/2026 16:11

She would have been approached by the brand and paid to do the photoshoot, like any underwear model. She could have said no. But she said yes. It's not that hard to understand TBH.

Abitofalark · 03/02/2026 16:11

I hate the ugly language of sl and wh words being brought into the discussion of women being sexy, liking sex or posing in a sexual way while advertising underwear - all three of which seem to have been conflated as if they are one and the same.

How exactly is that NOT saying she deserves it.

You've said, if she didn't do that then it wouldn't happen and she chose to do it so essentially it's her fault if disgusting men abuse her online.

I'm sure you're aware that men abuse women in all states of undress online. Look at the rape threats female politicians get.

When has Emily Atack got her fanny out in a pub?

Rosecoffeecup · 03/02/2026 16:14

She is a knob for doing a documentary on sexual harassment without ANY acknowledgment that she became famous from a TV series full of degrading and disgusting references to women

But nowt wrong with a bit of lingerie modelling if that's what she wants/needs to do

I have a lovely friend who is a minor tv personality. She is in her sixties and, as part of her tv image, probably dresses in the least 'sexy' way imaginable. She still regularly gets sexually harrassed by creepy strangers on the internet.
You may not be aware of this but it seems as though any woman who is even slightly in the public eye, will find themselves the target of offensive, degrading and often threatening sexual messages from strange men on a regular basis, seemingly regardless of age, appearance or image.
Your suggestion that EA is inviting such reprehensible male attention by the way she looks and dresses is both incredibly offensive and extremely ignorant.

BlackCatDiscoClub · 03/02/2026 16:17

She's sexy, and she likes being sexy. I'm so glad her past experiences haven't changed that!

no I said there would be less chance of it and yes I said that about your last point too.

Nope that's victim blaming

Just because you're OK with being gazed at in one scenario doesn't mean it's ok in another

I know how the world currently works and how people think it SHOULD work but let's be honest here you will never get a world where women dress in skimpy underwear with their legs open and never get any negative comments. It's just not going to happen.

Can you explain how there would be less chance of crimes being committed against her?

I'm sure we would all love to hear your insights into lowering our chances of being the victims of sexual crimes.

Is it just not to be a model? Or do we have to stop being pretty too? Maybe not be young? Maybe don't wear makeup? I'm fascinated and ready to be educated.

Expand on your last sentence?

Allmarbleslost · 03/02/2026 16:24

I mean presumably she's been paid a shit tonne of money

Do you understand what consent is?

If so the last sentence should be fairly obvious.

I know it's a thing that people get angry about- I'm allowed to wear this, go here, say this, drink that but they don't want consequences. Life is full of consequences of certain actions.

Give me an example of the two differing situations.
