Please help me solve this mystery of the wet bed!

Ok I know this is ridiculous but I can’t work out what’s happened and it’s been driving me mad all night!
The facts- DS 7(asd) was very agitated last night and we couldn’t settle him so he slept in bed with me and DH went in his room. We went to bed at about 9pm. Nothing unusual in the bed that I noticed. At about 11.30 I woke up and my leg brushed against the duvet cover and it was wet, I immediately thought DS had had an accident but his trousers were dry and there was no smell of urine on him so it couldn’t have dried.
I turned the light on to check the bed and just under where my knees had been was a wet patch on the sheets. The mattress protector underneath was not wet. The duvet cover was wet but only on one side (hadn’t affected the duvet or the other side of the cover).
I can obviously confirm that I hadn’t had an accident! I also wasn’t hot and my pjs were dry so not sweat. But where could this wet patch have suddenly appeared from? Because it was the middle of the night and my sensible brain was somewhere in sleep land I convinced myself that there was some kind of animal living in my room and all sorts! It’s driving me mad!

A glass of water that got knocked?

Rain from an open window? Leak in the ceiling? Wet towel left on the bed?

No to all, bed is in the middle of the room away from windows, no towels had been in the room and I don’t usually have drinks in the bedroom so none had been in last night

Your DH snuck in and poured water on the bed so you would think ds wet the bed?

Could DS have taken his PJ's off and wet the bed then put the back? Kids do weird things when half asleep sometimes. Or are you sure it's not pee?

Given it was the middle of the night and you’d been asleep, I’m going to with one of those weird dream hallucination type things when you think you’re awake but you’re still half asleep and partly dreaming.
