To take the rest of this year off to focus on me

I run my own consultancy wound a few clients down before Xmas. I’m knackered and need a break. Financially it’s doable.

Would it be easy to start back up again?

The rest of the year? It’s only February 2nd!

I would take 3 months or something

If financially it is doable and there's no loss to reputation, nor risk of being seen to have fallen behind in your specialism or potential loss of future earnings, why not? What would you do with the time off?

If you have wound down some clients, can you just carry on with the ones you have left or pass on a few more to someone else and keep just a few so you keep your hand in?

I can understand being exhausted and needing a break but I'd suggest cutting back rather than quitting altogether.

In part it depends on what 'focusing on me' entails: are you going to travel the world or just hang out on the sofa? If it's the latter, I imagine you'll be bored witless in a few weeks so suggest keeping the equivalent of p/t.
