Hair loss at 60

Posting here for traffic. My hair is so thin on top and my parting is getting wider. It's really affecting my confidence and mood.
I've never taken hrt as I just seemed to sail through menopause. I was very ill with covid in 2021 so don't know if that's a contributory factor.
I don't want to see a gp if I can help it when genuinely ill people need an appointment.
I've been looking online for advice on treatments. Are all these serums, collagen tablets etc just a fad to make us part with our money? Have any of you been in this situation and successfully turned it around?

If your parting is getting wider it sounds very much like androgenetic alopecia or female pattern hair loss. The treatment for this would be minoxidil. There are many forms of alopecia , to be sure you would need to see a dermatologist.
