GP Appt wait times

Long story short, the soonest GP appt available to me is over a month away.
AIBU to think this is unacceptable?

Is this for a routine appointment? We had to wait that long for a routine appointment for ds but I find emergencies get dealt with quickly when you finally get through on the phone. We've had several times recently where we haven't had an appointment but we can send a photo of the problem and a dr has issued antibiotics within a couple of hours, although we don't get an actual appointment, just a phone call from the receptionist with a message from the duty dr.

@elliejjtiny The problem is I can't sit on the phone for ages of a morning (which is the reality as you say) as I'm self-employed with non-flexible working hours. I can't cancel off appts as then I don't get paid and can't pay my rent 😞

All GP practices are supposed to be offering booking on the internet now. We use econsult at 7.30 in the morning and always speak to someone on the same day, being called in for a face to face if it is needed. Our practice doesn’t even make advance appointments. And they have a call back system so you don’t have to sit on the phone.

It's ridiculous I was having bad heart palpitations for hours you would expect an appointment on the day to be checked out. No phone call I had to wait 2 weeks just got a text.

@Rocknrollstar This is an appt booked online. I'm suffering with anxiety ++ (peri so think this is ramping it up) but can't take a call in the mornings due to work.
So guess I will just have to wait.

Just had my (waste of time) GP telephone appt. I definitely can't be going through perimenopause at 45 as I'm not ticking the "hot flushes" box. All other symptoms irrelevant!

I phoned the gp because I was coughing up blood and struggling to breathe, I’m also on chemo. I went through the gp triage and they offered me an appointment for the next afternoon. Didn’t make the appointment as I was blue lighted to the hospital with a clot on my lung (I’m also on chemo)
