How to get a car on finance? Or what if I need to buy one?

I have a 8 year old Toyota that's done me well. However I don't have any spare money at the end of the month. If my car goes, how do I afford another?

Ok I could have worded that better, it's good that car dealers don't usually accept credit because the interest would be astronomical, albeit that's not what they're concerned about.
However I don't think that helps the OP given she's already running out of money at the end of each month - thats not going to help a credit score or affordable checks.
