About Amazon driver

I actually don’t think iabu at all but I just want a rant.

I arrived home from work to an Amazon delivery van blocking my drive.

No big deal I thought, I’ll just wait for him to move on. Now I must say, there is absolutely no need whatsoever to block anyone’s drive as there is plenty of street parking all up the road. But I know that the drivers are in a hurry so not worth feeling annoyed.

I was indicating to pull onto my drive so it was quite obvious that I was waiting, the driver came back to his van and clearly looked at me waiting with my indicator on. He got on his van and just didn’t move. He could have literally pulled forward two metres, it’s a long road with drop curbs and then space in between.

I waited a bit more to let him put his seatbelt on and all of that and he just didn’t move, so I beeped at him. Instead of moving he started beeping back.

When he eventually moved he drove up the road, stared at me, gave me a filthy look and stuck his finger up at me.

The man is a rude idiot but that description seems to apply to a lot of people when they get behind the wheel.

Obviously he shouldn't block your driveway.

But, for goodness sake, why didn't you just go and talk to him rather than passively-agressively sitting in your car and beeping your horn?

Because I had my baby in the car, it’s a busy road so I’m not going to park and leave the baby in the back of the car while I get out and ask a rude man to move.

He looked right at me so it was obvious that I was waiting to pull onto my driveway.

It’s not passive aggressive to beep at someone in that scenario, I was alerting him to move forward.

He spun his van round and stuck his finger up at me even though he could see I’d pulled into my drive.

In what possible way is any of that me in the wrong? 🙄

Why on earth would you think you're being unreasonable?

zipadeeday · 26/01/2026 17:03

I think you were a bit in the wrong and he was very in the wrong.😀

I just wanted a rant really as I couldn’t quite believe the nerve of the man.
