And which app is safe to use on my iPhone? Have had quite a few fake texts recently and want to sort my phone out.

Select all, delete.

Why do you need an app?

HankyP · 25/01/2026 14:19

I'm not sure I would be happy with a third party app having access to all my private info?

skyeisthelimit · 25/01/2026 14:24

I find it easiest to delete on a computer. If you sort into From, you can then bulk delete loads of emails at the same time.

It also occurs to me, what do fake texts have to do with your email?

PevenseygirlQQ · 25/01/2026 14:49

I do mine in groups, I search for emails from say tesco or amazon and then delete all of them saves me going through the whole inbox

I thought it might be more efficient! But as HankyP said, I was concerned about 3rd parties having access to my information.

I don’t know - anxious generally since my credit card was stopped due to fraudulent use recently.

I tried this once and it did f all.

So I set aside a task to delete 1000 emails a day and I’d unsubscribe as I went. In gmail, you can select 50 at a time (I did need to glance through them because there was some stuff I genuinely needed to save). It took me a little over a week to get through my 15,000 unread emails. It was very satisfying!

Unsubscribing to things means I now get very little junk.

Oh God no! You can search from a sender, a date, etc, in Gmail, and then select delete all from those! You're not restricted to just the 50 on a page!!

littlebilliie · 25/01/2026 16:51

Sort by sender and delete in groups

Sheknowsaboutme · 25/01/2026 18:14

Why have you left it so long?

Fecklessness mostly

Am doing it this way. I just thought an app might be quicker.

Down 1000 already.
