To wonder if Kier Starmer says something that Trump doesn't like, he could go to war with us?

He's striked Venezuela, is causing shit in Greenland and even people in his own country are getting killed. Is it too far-fetched?

There is so much overreaction at the moment, I'm sure he could hurt us financially, but he's never going to war with one of his major allies, just because Kier says something he doesn't like...

Trump knows all about Starmer’s skeletons so this is unlikely to happen in any egregious way

Which skeletons? Or are you just making shit up?

Maybe something to do with individuals trying to set fire to his home?

Go on, explain.

Or are you just making baseless insinuations?

Feel free to disagree with his policies and politics, but pushing bullshit conspiracy theories is just pathetic

As the judge stated at their custody hearing, the circumstances are ‘somewhat opaque’…. I didn’t push any theories but there had to be some motive.

Glad it’s not Boris Johnson in charge. Two overgrown toddlers fighting, with very dangerous weapons in their hands. Doesn’t bear thinking about.

user1471453601 · 25/01/2026 20:19

All the evidence suggests that when countries stand up against Trump, Trump backs down. He's not called TACo for nothing.

See Greenland (most of Europe said no, bigly) See the terrible thing he said about British troops in Afghanistan. Starmer and other European leaders said no.

In both cases he backed off.

You shouldn't really get much past the age of, maybe 10, before you realise that people like Trump can only be beaten by standing up to to them.

Lonelycrab · 25/01/2026 20:22

Yabu op.

One thing that’s become clear with the whole Greenland thing, is that once again,

Trump always chickens out.

That was against a country with a tiny economy and population. I think you’re letting your imagination get the better of you.

Tunnocksmilkchocolatemallow · 25/01/2026 20:26

Trump doesn’t have that much power - only Congress can declare war.

So two blokes attack properties linked to Starmer and that's his fault? Victim blame much?

dukenpixie · 25/01/2026 20:36

Yes, this is an absolutely realistic view on reality. There's nothing wrong with you. /s

What for though? What has the UK got that the US would want?

Do you not know the difference between understanding a motivation behind an action and victim blaming? To say, for example, a rapist had a sexual motive does not mean you are blaming the victim. Or are you suggesting two men entirely at random for no reason whatsoever decided to attack Starmer’s property?

BettyWhittaker · 25/01/2026 20:58

I asked ChatGPT this last night - it said USA going to war with UK is so unlikely it’s practically impossible.

It did say there is a small change of civil war in the US.

It also agreed witt me that Trump is batshit crazy which surprised me.

And it thinks that Nigel Farage would win Tommy Robinson in a fist fight. (I was bored).

Russia has been commissioning physical attacks in the UK (and elsewhere in Europe).

Arson is a favourite, although there have been other crimes. Russia recruits disaffected or money-hungry locals in the UK. It also attempts to blackmail Ukrainians to carry out attacks, with the threat that it will torture family members who are POWs. The latter last has been more common within Ukraine, of course.

Eg of using local crims:

I haven't heard it confirmed that the weird arson attacks on properties associated with Starmer were commissioned by Russia, but they do fit the pattern very well. Those attacks were oddly half-hearted – like the people doing them didn't actually want to harm anyone.

Dylan Earl and Jake Reeves, on the other hand, really did manage to cause considerable damage... but didn't get paid fully by Russia and ended up caught anyway.

You're the one suggesting that the attacks had something to do with skeletons in his closet.

It could just be that these two decided to attack the properties cos they don't like the man, or maybe they believe batshit conspiracy theories.

That he’s kryten from Red Dwarf?

Deafnotdumb · 25/01/2026 21:22

As Russia, North Korea and Israel have demonstrated, going up against a nuclear power is risky. Plus, we happen to be part of NATO and we're an island, making it tricky to attempt an invasion. There is a reason why China has not yet annexed Taiwan and it's not for a lack of troops, will or weapons.

Yes: we've let our forces degrade and we are paying a price for our complacency, especially over Brexit. But I doubt the USA would go to war. No reward and too much risk.

For completeness, I should add that Russia attacks us by recruiting people further up the social scale too. Hence the recent jailing of Nathan Gill, leader of Reform in Wales.

Russia's not picky. It does whatever works.

I was going to apologise for going off-topic on this thread about Donald Trump.

But thinking about it, I'm not so sure it is off-topic. Russia recruiting or grooming or nudging non-Russian knobbers at all levels who then attack the UK... Hmm.

Published on the website of a Ukrainian tv channel (112ua.tv) in February 2019 - the channel has been shut down by Zelensky after the Russian invasion. Third from left is Oleg Voloshyn, named in David Deans' copy and was the man in contact with Nathan...
