Student Loan mess

Hoping for some wise words. My daughter changed Uni 2 weeks after starting. Student loans updated but then Uni sent an email in December to say fees not paid personal tutor waded in with registry and daughter was told all sorted. Now she has been taken off all systems and told she will be thrown out unless she pays. Student loan co which showed new uni now bizarrely showing old uni.We could pay her fees but do not want to for fear of double paying and never getting.the money back. Really worrying this will never get sorted.

Even if a double pay happens, wouldn’t the old Uni refund the money back to the student loan company?

As you can pay the fees, I would do it so she isn’t thrown out while she is chasing up the student loan company and old Uni to ensure no student loan funds were disbursed and if they were, then a refund needs to occur.

She can still get student loans for next year, so you are not locked into paying fees for future years if you pay this year.

There's a petition re student loans on the mn petitions site. Worth a sign and share. I don't particularly like the wording of it but at least whoever set it up had the ooomph to do so
