So upset about ICE killings in Minnesota

So upset about the killings. No investigation and victim blaming from the Trump administration. I see no hope for America. Trump will cancel the midterms possibly elections or will rig them. The most powerful western country - one we thought was our friend is dying
im so sad for the bereaved and do sad for the country

You keep repeating fake stuff

I linked to one the prisoners you mentioned and found he was listed as on ‘supervised release’ ie out in the community. Why do you repeat lies that I’ve demonstrated to you are totally false?

Here’s the deal. Walz controls only state prisons and they are said to honor detainers so surprisingly he’s not the issue this time around.

It’s the county and city jails that are uncooperative. Namely Hennepin and Ramsey counties.

Supervised ... SUPERVISED. After 20 plus years in jail, with more time to serve.

You know how these things work. One foot wrong and it's straight back into the clink. It's done this way to ensure they are no longer a danger to society.

You KNEW that ICE wasn’t going to jails and releasing people early. Yet you still repeated this lie so other people would be fooled? Here you are admitting it. Why would you do this?

In any case, we don’t need to pointlessly keep them around in our communities, where they will still pose a risk. Let them go to their homeland since we aren’t interested in reintegrating them into our community (which is the point of such programs)

Where is the lie ? Ice are picking up convicts and setting them free. 48% of people ICE pick up are already in the judicial system.

LeafyMcLeafFace · 30/01/2026 05:41

Bruce Springsteen giving Woodie Guthrie vibes. I love how he uses his music to share a message and he’s a bit more direct than usual in this one.

Please let me see the source.

Because 48% makes sense if it’s ICE picking up people that have served their sentence and are being transferred for deportation proceedings (ie leaving the prison walls). The other half will be worksite raids/failed asylum seekers/ICE tips

I quoted the source for that on another thread already.

You can actually legally use some ‘racial profiling’ as part of it. So the fact you are part of a Spanish-speaking community, can’t speak English or have heavily accented English, you work alongside illegals, etc will be part of the determination to ask for proof of citizenship. So ethnicity isn’t the only reason you can stop someone, but it CAN be a factor.

Tbh I see nothing wrong with this. Because it’s not going to affect fully assimilated Hispanics.

But I know you will scream and cry about it.

I'm aware of the Kavanaugh stops being made legal by the joke that is the Supreme Court. Even that ruling came with caveats though:

To be clear, apparent ethnicity alone cannot furnish reasonable suspicion; under this Court's case law regarding immigration stops, however, it can be a "relevant factor" when considered along with other salient factors.

Worthy of note is that other factors include things like the area being one where large numbers of illegal immigrants are known to be. Something that doesn't apply to Minnesota.

And ICE are completely ignoring this bit:
Importantly, reasonable suspicion means only that immigration officers may briefly stop the individual and inquire about immigration status. If the person is a U.S. citizen or otherwise lawfully in the United States, that individual will be free to go after the brief encounter. Only if the person is illegally in the United States may the stop lead to further immigration proceedings.

Good.

Because I didn’t just vote for deporting the worst of the worst. That should be happening regardless of who is in Washington. Just a total no-brainer.

I voted along with 77 million other Americans for mass deportations.

So you voted to put infants into concentration camps where there is no access to safe drinking water? Nice.

‘Illegals’

I’ll listen to different views with an open mind all day but anyone who uses that word invalidates anything else in their statement. It demonstrates a level of prejudice and ignorance which indicates they have nothing of value to contribute to any conversation. If they did, they would have to dehumanize people.

Edited

How are they ignoring it? I haven’t seen where they’ve detained all that many US citizens. Prior example in some leftist rag was an American citizen was picked up with his illegal brother, couldn’t speak English, was on a worksite with a bunch of other illegal aliens.

Not a mystery as to why he was picked up. As it happens, just for a few hours as well. And this is the example they chose to highlight!

You mean to say government facilities that hold and process asylum seekers? They are the very same facilities used under the Obama administration.

There was no reason to disperse asylum seekers all across the US, where you’d have to trust that they leave after rejection. Many don’t. So what would you have us do? Nothing?

Obviously they should have access to clean water and decent food. So if there is a problem, yes, highlight and fix it.

You do know it was Holocaust Memorial Day Jan 27th yes? Did you see any of the footage or hear any of the testomonies? Please educate yourself.

To liken detainment facilities in the US to the horrors of actual concentration camps is appalling and does your argument no favours. If you embellish and exaggerate one thing it does make one question what else you overegg.

My understanding is the “footage” that has just been shared was 11 days prior to his killing.

The new video is irrelevant anway, nothing would justify him being murdered in broad daylight.

We've been told this man was a harmless 'nurse' for days so to find out he was a violent agitator with form is relevant.

Nothing justifies anyone being shot however in a volatile situation with armed officers, much like Jan 6th riots then sadly mistakes will happen.

I don't think one person has said the shooting was justified, a pp has however suggested Babbitt's was justfied on Jan 6th as she was apparently about to 'lynch' Pence Confused.

Generally in chaotic scenes where armed officers are being obstructed it is best. to stfu and do as you're told.

This is an offensive minimisation of the Holocaust. No-one is going to gass millions of migrants tp death.

I actually thought Obama was very reasonable on immigration. I voted for him
in 2008 🥰

They called him Deporter in Chief for a reason.

There is some missing the point. The issue is not illegal immigrants being deported. We may disagree but it’s a matter of policy not of th basis of democracy. The issues are:

  1. the rule of law being broken down.
  2. increasingly unaccountable law enforcement who do not follow the law
  3. public officials and indeed the president lying without consequence
  4. the overemphasis or scapegoating of immigrants or certain groups as the source of all problems - most of which are economic issues.
  5. the use of overseas military action as distraction from home issues

It is horrific isn't it.

We've had the same Holocaust fantasisers say 'ah but the nazis didn't start murdering Jews it evolved over 10yrs' yet when I and others pointed out Obama had detainment centres in 2016 with alleged mistreatment and in 10yrs it has not evolved to mass murder you get 'whataboutery!'

I wonder if some people get some kind of perverse thrill from using false equivalence regarding the Holocaust and concentration camps. It is quite disturbing.

Yes we can all agree law has broken down in Minneapolis mainly due to Walz and Frey encouraging locals to obstuct ICE.

Homan may get things under control a bit. It sounded hopeful with what he was saying yesterday.

The trouble is many of the posters here believe in no borders. That's their starting point and everything they say stems from that. They will deny it of course.

Quote : " They will deny it of course."

So there it is.

So no matter what border policy idea anyone puts forward, if it don't match yours , then it means "open borders" no matter what.
