Impossible to get intact smoked salmon slices out of a pack

Impossible

Still using up smoked salmon from Christmas

Delicious

But Ive never been able to get silky, smooth, succulent slices out of a packet that drape luxuriously atop a cracker/piece of bread (carrier of your choosing)

I have to scrape if off with fork resulting in it looking like the cat's been at it.

Luckily I usually have it a salad so the bits are ok mixed in with other salady bits but the 'slices' left in the packet also look hacked to death.

Shredded.

Are you buying offcuts?

Mine usually come off in slices as long as the packaging is all removed.

What type of packs are you buying? Usually I use a knife to separate slices in the packet and never have an issue.

It’s much harder since they stopped putting slices of plastic film in between each slice.

You need a knife now, and to separate it as soon as it’s out of the fridge

Randomly.... open the pack, flip all the slices over and separate from the underside not the top. Don't know why but sometimes it's a bit easier

Upside down, I never thought of that, its too late for the current pack but I still have one pack left

Its Lidl Hickory smoked, I buy it when I see it at Christmas, its the best flavour

But I have the same problem with whatever brand I buy. Unless its separated by film as someone says.
