Trump is disgusting. However, he doesn't have the capability to apologise for his errors, rudeness, and lies. Shame on him.

British troops were on the front line in Afghanistan. The orange blimp is incorrect (again) many died and many were injured. They are rightly upset at his disgusting comments.

I think it was in 2018 that Trumph threw Denmark under the bus in NATO calling Denmark out to be a bad ally.
The Danish Prime Minister was brave enough to speak out against Trump as Denmark lost as many soldiers as the USA in relation to population.

Now it is the UK's turn to be belittled.

It's grotesque.

Trump has back tracked now, issuing an "almost" apology.

Too little, too late.

He’s not going to apologise.

The best response would be to inform him US military bases are no longer welcome in the UK, and not to send troops the next time the US calls on us for assistance.

Kick them out of Mildenhall, Lakenheath and Diego Garcia. The Germans should kick them out of Ramstein. See how powerful his military actually is without assistance from allies.

Even better, give the ungrateful bastards so little notice to leave that they can't take their equipment with them. Ukraine can make much better use of it, and they'd be far more grateful.

I don't suppose that our wet blanket of a Prime Minister has done so much as summon the US ambassador. I wish that we had politicians who would tell US Presidents to fuck off, rather than sucking up to them (are you listening Mr Blair?)

He does warrant anything past and late presidents have - presidential funeral, statues, paintings and the library (which will be full of picture books) as he probably has never read a book in his life.

More people are believing that the assassination attempt in July 2024 was staged. Ears don’t grow cartilage back and scars stay (see Evander Holyfield), blood splatter wasn’t right and if was genuine, the bodyguards would not let him stand up and let him punch the air. Bodyguards would keep him pinned down just in case someone else was trying to assassinate him from another direction.

The other thing with that "assassination attempt" is that he hardly went on about it.

This is a man who wouldn't shut up for ages about being stuck on an escalator, yet apparently has a close call with a bullet and has forgotten about it weeks later? Something stinks, and I'm not talking about his diaper.

He was a draft dodger so has no right to ever pass comment on members of the military who fought and either gave their lives or were injured. The war was wrong and unnecessary but they were just doing their job while he was what exactly? Playing golf and fucking sex workers.

Cheating at golf and raping girls, you mean?

Many Americans believe Trump has frontal lobe dementia. He shows the classic symptoms - loss of inhibitions, reduced empathy, uses wrong words (called Greenland, Iceland in his speech - even with a teleprompter in front of him), repeating phrases, stands at a forward lean- hence why he grabbed on the lectern for dear life.

He's having regular IV drips for some reason, hence why he has that massive bruise on the back of the hand.

Yet The White House keeps saying BS statements its due to excess handshaking. Also claim he is 6ft 3 and 225lb (16st 1lb). Yeah when he stands to other politicians who are 6ft2 plus, he is shorter than them. Plus he's more 20st plus. Stop pulling fibs WH. We can see you are covering things up.

I cannot stand the man - he has destroyed the WH - paving over Jackie Kennedy's Rose Garden, knocked down the East Wing and put loads of sprayed gold embellishments everywhere in the Oval Office.

We would not have him in office if the Democrats had not swallowed the TWAW kool aid. Many women voted for him to get men out of women and girls' sport, and out of women's prisons etc.

If women were short-sighted and morally bankrupt enough to vote for the world’s greatest living misogynist - whatever they think their rationale is - then they have nobody but themselves to blame for the fact that he’s in power and enacting the most damaging programme of systemic misogyny in modern times. The stupidity of voting for Trump as any sort of feminist is staggering.

I agree. It’s just the whole ‘look what you made us do’ excuse, which is ridiculous.

They’re right on one thing though - Trump certainly knows what a woman is. You only have to look at his convictions, his Epstein connections and his party’s determination to strip away women’s reproductive rights to see that.

Voting for this man to get men out of women and girls' changing rooms? This man?

In an episode of the Howard Stern Show in April 2005, Mr Trump said: “Well I’ll tell you the funniest is that I’ll go backstage before a show and everyone’s getting dressed and ready, and everything else, and, you know, no men anywhere, and I’m allowed to go in because I’m the owner of the pageant and therefore I’m inspecting it, you know, I’m inspecting, I want to make sure everything is good. You know, the dresses. ‘Is everyone ok?’ You know they’re standing there with no clothes. ‘Is everybody okay?’ And you see these incredible looking women. And so I sort of get away with things like that”.

It's like voting for a fox because he promises to take good care of the chicken coop.

Perhaps. But he did it, he has refused federal school funding to states that allow males to compete in female sports at college level (or any level, I think). And now there is the SC case about Title IX because some Red states have banned males from female sports (e,g. Texas and W. Virginia) and trans activists have thrown a strop that they cannot steal women's prizes and places in those states anymore.
Trans ideology is a huge threat to women, so great it was worth the risk of Trump just to make a start on opposing it. That Democrats support men in women's sports (and prisons, and refuges etc) is doing huge damage to them. They have to reverse their policy on this to get into power. If Democrats are supporting men in women's sports when the mid-terms come up some women will still vote against them (though not necessarily vote Republican).
Trump's other actions are a patchwork of things one might agree with - support for Israel against murderous Hamas - and thing that one doesn't such as cosying up to Putin and telling Nato its armed forces held back from the front line in Afghanistan. He may have slightly sort of apologised for that at least to the UK but it is not likely to be forgotten because that the US 'saved the world and fights alone' is an ongoing trope of some Americans, and it grates in Europe (esp as the US has NEVER won a war on its own).

Farage has distanced himself from it but the language is wishy washy as I assume he doesn’t want his pal to fall out with him. He said it’s ’not quite fair’.

Farage is going to have to rethink being so chummy with Trump IF he wants to win..

Agree very strongly with this. Trump's actions have been awful generally imo but the effect of TWAW on women would have been worse

The US abortion laws are disgraceful (in that lots of states now have almost total bans, some with no rape exception even) but they were set by the state so would have happened without Trump after Roe fell.

It's not about feminism, it is about the least bad option.

If your teenage daughter was forced to undress and take a shower in front of males and be 're-educated' if she objects, then you might think about voting for a monster who will stop that.

Pathetic. Look at how outspoken he was against Obama who of course never said anything like that. All he did was show support for the UK staying in the EU.

2016:
UKIP leader Nigel Farage has described US President Barack Obama as a "loathsome individual" and a "creature" who "couldn't stand our country".

And I’m not buying it that all these voters would have voted for democrats if it wasn’t for their trans gender policies.

Most Trump voters I know are bigoted or deluded in multiple ways and at most have only mentioned that as one of the reasons they voted for him but not the main one.

Single issue voting is not smart anyway. The idea of voting for a racist misogynist unhinged bully due to one policy is scary.

What do you mean "Perhaps" he said this... & far worse about women, then there is the Epstein stuff.

Do you think Jimmy Savile did good things on Spinal Injury, mitigating his sexual abuse? or Hitler built great roads?

Look at Renee Good or Alex Pretti, Trans women in female sport is very wrong but no one gets gunned down.

Sometimes you have to take a stand and say someone is just an evil narcissist, regardless of the tiny bit of good they do, usually done to provide cover for the real harms they cause.

I mentioned Trump not going to Vietnam. How did he avoid conscription?

Paul2023 · 25/01/2026 07:39

I disagree with the poster who say we should thrown the US military out. Trump is Trump but I think don’t think people understand the importance of having them here.

They are also protecting the UK by being here.

On another note Ukraine would have been finished without the US funding them. Zelensky needs Trump.

The US pulling out would de- stabilise Europe. Who knows what Putin would do next.
