Sold a lot of stuff on e bay but today have been charged £2.79 postage . Buyer paid £1.90 also.
Got on to customer services and they say I need to select postage. I went into my other items that are on sale and the cheapest postage is this £2.79 !
Ive never paid postage before and to be honest its not worth the small amount of money I woukd receive.
Bye bye e bay

Is this the simple delivery? I think you can opt if the item is under £20.

You need to select buyer pays postage. It's been like that for a while.

Iloveeverycat · 24/01/2026 09:26

With the new simple postage buyer pays postage to ebay and ebay generate a label for you to post like Vinted. Or you can use the old way which buyer pays you and then you buy the postage. Not quite sure what you mean about not having to buy postage before it's always been like that.

You’re doing it wrong.

The buyer has always paid for postage whether old or new system.

But the OP says she paid postage and she was the seller.
There is an option to put 'seller pays postage' though. I only started selling again recently and I don't remember seeing it before but maybe I just missed it.

Seller pays postage option is just the old system where the buyer pays the seller the postage and the seller purchased the label. With the new system the buyer pays eBay and ebay sends label to seller. I can't see how the seller was charged. I don't use the new system as their prices are so high. So set my own prices as with the fee for buyers now as well would put them off and you can choose who to post by.

Ive taken everything off Ebay now and put it on Vinted. Sold 4 items already . They've been on e bay for ages
