Fucking ridiculous I know but with mock marking and deadlines looming I’m really stressed out. (Before anyone says I could now; I can’t, I have two very young children so am posting this while one toddler is on my lap watching peppa pig and another child is next to me.)

honestly it is tempting to take a day off and just clear the backlog.

I'm a Cover Supervisor and I'm absolutely certain that some of the teachers I've covered for have done this. And I actually don't mind - it's a disgrace that the workload is driving teachers to feel like this.

It’s mad, isn’t it? The stupid thing is that would generate more work for me in terms of cover!

I was thinking this today and I’m not a teacher. Too many meetings and tasks coming out of those to have time to do my actual work. I say go for it.

Just stop doing stuff. Make a list of everything you have to do, how long each will take and the number of non-teaching hours that you have available. Review it with your supervisor and ask them to assist with prioritisation. Fuck off at least 50% of the list.

I feel the same. I lost a PPA today thanks to a trip I ended up on and I can't see a way of getting everything done. Mocks, y11 intervention, planning, coursework, general day to day teaching. I'm working 6 1/2 days a week as it is and my to do list just keeps growing

I knew this would be teaching before I opened it. Yes, I have done this a couple of times and would do it again.
