Is she drinking too much?

Same sex relationship, just for clarity.

Been seeing someone long distance (ish) for 6 months.

We see each other on average once or twice a week. Shes 47, divorced, i am 44.

Now dont get me wrong, I used to enjoy a drink, in fact I still do but I've just realised by taking some empty bottles to my recycling bucket just how much is being consumed.

Bear in mind I didn't really drink at home prior to meeting her.

There were 4 litre bottles of empty rum amd 2 empty bottles of brandy.

She also drinks at home, so I would imagine that when she is back home she is probably going through a big rum per week. I know for a fact she has done 2, maybe 3 whole bottles of brandy since seeing each other.

She works hard, and she enjoys one or 2 glasses after work but she's also clearly binging? I am a little bit worried, she's fit and enjoys walks etx but do you think I should approach her about it? She is wonderful and we haven't argued or anything like that. I dont feel like she's drunk all the time, basically its not obvious she's drinking a lot. Some nights she won't drink at all.

Im just wondering if there may be a problem or will I come across as a Debbie downer so to speak?

Shes had liver function tests lately for something but came back clear.

It’s not clear really how much she is drinking. 6 bottles in your recycling, is that in the 6 months you have been together, did you have any, did she drink this infront if you or do you think she is drinking in secret? One or two glasses per night isn’t ideal but not necessarily a huge issue if she is generally fit - but day drinking/binge drinking clearly much more worrying.

Can you find out the real situation?
