I prefer Isla. Although it's incredibly popular at the moment if that makes any difference to you. There are at least 8 at my DCs primary school.

Layla wasn't a showgirl, Lola was. Layla was a song by Derek and the Dominoes.

Both are lovely, but Layla gets my vote as its less popular. I also like Leila as a spelling.

Well I was going to say Isla is the nicest (and classier) because I think Layla does sound like a show girl. But apparently there are tons of Isla's around at the moment. How about Iona as @YourWinter suggests. It's a lovely name and very different.
