Urgent - interview

Posting for traffic as feeling nervous

I applied for a senior analytical job with a solicitor firm last year. The interview process keeps trucking on… I’m not sure what they want from me now.

Had a successful stage 1 interview with the head of service & another colleague in same role months ago, then few chats with their recruitment team since. Was supposed to be sent a technical test but it seems they’ve scrapped that.

Today I have a 45 minute long informal chat booked in with the same head of service. No preparation required.

I’d just love to understand more from the interviewer’s perspective, what are they hoping to glean? I am working today in my current job so will literally be jumping from a work meeting right to this interview…

I think you need to ask what their hiring process actually looks like, otherwise they can just string you along.

For the love of me I have no idea why companies do this, I work in the NHS and often have new team members come from working in the private sector & the hoops they have to jump through & circular questions they get asked is asinine for some of their previous jobs.

Sounds like you are in a good position and they just want to check that they think you’re a good ‘fit’ for their firm, personality-wise. .

Good luck! 🤞

I would just remember interviewing is always a two way process. What do you need from them to confirm this is a good fit for you.

I don’t think it was positive

they basically said they gave the job to an internal candidate but are considering creating a role for me to join them as they were impressed with me

i saw it as wishy washy and a waste of my time
