How many steps did you do in 2025- And what’s your job?

I did just under 4.2million steps around 11k a day average for the year.

im a carer

anyone else? I’m aiming for minimum 12k a day steps for this year, already keeping up.

also Fitbits don’t count as they are so inaccurate! I remember my friend at work telling me she did 19k steps most days…. It was her wrists movements from typing 😆😭

mine is recorded on my iPhone (if you want to do it you can find the average steps per month then write them down, add them all together and divide by 12- yes I am that bored 😊) and a lot of the time I don’t have it with me let’s say going toilet or little bits up and down at home so I probably do a little amount of extra steps too.

would be cool to hear if anyone in certain jobs have super high steps and their general health? I’m going to guess nurses etc hospital staff and retail workers have very high steps

2,700,000. My job is 100% desk based.

vanillalattes · 12/01/2026 19:20

I did similar to you, I'm a dog walker. I average around 14-15k on a working day but absolutely bugger all at weekends 😂

socks1107 · 12/01/2026 19:22

4,355,296. Desk based but get off the tube one stop early, walk every lunch time and every evening before dinner. Aim for 18k each weekend day

Xmasoverloadx · 12/01/2026 19:24

I did 3.7 million in 10 months recorded via garmin. I didn’t have a watch for 2 months. I work from home but have a dog. I also went to Glastonbury festival 🤣🤣

2026x · 12/01/2026 19:25

5,476,095 so 15,003 a day average. I have an office job but I WFH a fair bit and make an effort to walk. When I’m in the office it’s London so lots of walking. I run too, although not loads last year.

Clefable · 12/01/2026 19:29

3.3 million, so about 9k a day. It was a slow first three months though of only about 4-5k a day as I had some health issues but been 10k plus most months since, so hopefully more this year. I’m a desk worker but I walk a fair bit, do some running, use the walking pad while working, etc.

I'm a primary teacher and my classroom is miles from the printer and the toilets. I also run.

TON618 · 12/01/2026 19:57

Just under 4.8 million. I'm office based but have dogs and like running.

HollyGolightly4 · 12/01/2026 19:58

4,967,416 total 13,067 per day average - high school teacher.

Would have been higher, but a very tired first trimester of pregnancy came in there!

BogRollBOGOF · 12/01/2026 20:04

4.78m / 13,139 daily average

I'm on my feet all day in a school and a runner too.

hikebikenoautomobile · 12/01/2026 20:05

Wow this is inspiring! Good work everyone
I forgot teachers! Of course. Especially I’m going to guess secondary as some of those older buildings especially are bloody massive

It's good for the stair count too Grin

Thewonderfuleveryday · 12/01/2026 20:08

6.3 million.
I walk most places, office, gym, supermarket and do a couple of 5ks a week.

Thewonderfuleveryday · 12/01/2026 20:09

Oh, I work in an office. But walk there. Always get my 250 steps per hour.

MissRainbowBrite · 12/01/2026 20:09

3.8 million, I’m a Learning Support Assistant in a first school. Most of those steps were earned keeping up with my 1:1.

2,700,000. My job is 100% desk based.

Same here.

momager22 · 12/01/2026 20:10

Just shy of 10k daily. Sit at a desk all day but I walk to and from work and exercise a few times a week.

ThatWasMyLastFatFreeFrush · 12/01/2026 20:13

5 million and something. School cook plus I walk a lot out of work.

mummyof2boys30 · 12/01/2026 20:25

6.6million. Average of over 19k a day. I work in a shop but only very part time. I do an hr excercise class and a 3mile walk per day.

gingercat02 · 12/01/2026 20:32

Interesting question I've just looked. 2,334,098. NHS but mainly outpatients so desk based a lot of time.
Could do better if I made the effort.

Dublassie · 12/01/2026 20:32

5 million. Primary teacher . Also walk a lot .

I am a senior health professional, little bit of outpatient work, but mostly WFH.

But I go to the gym 4 times a week, and walk the dog at least 90 minutes a day. Spend about 2 months a year on walking holidays (different trips, not all at once)

Didimum · 12/01/2026 20:39

1.8 million. Office based, but I cycle everywhere and don’t often have my phone with me so it’s not very accurate!

GreaterF · 12/01/2026 20:46

Hardly anything 😭

Zanatdy · 12/01/2026 20:49

I do 15-17k a day and I have a desk based job. I do a lot of steps indoors before and after work; and also walk outside on weekends / summer evenings. I do that amount to lose weight / avoid gaining too much as i’m only short.
