To wonder if my GP is wrong about fertility treatment? Pwv

Hi All,
Has anyone had their GP refer them for tests before they referred them for IVF?

My gp has said I need to meet the BMI before he can refer me but Im concerned the fertility clinic will want the GP/ another hospital department to do testing before they except the referral... Im in a same sex couple and have already self funded iui which didnt work (no medical reason other than low amh and needing meds to ovulate). Im 37 so concerned that ill spend so long on various nhs waiting lists that ill be too old for a chance at ivf by the time they're finished with testing...
Im about a stone and a half away from the bmi requirement and live in Wales.
Can anyone else share what their gp has done so far? Or can share what's happened once they've got to the fertility clinic?

You are going to have to crack on with the diet im afraid. I was in there on the BMI (Just) they told me I had to make sure I didn't put on any weight leading up to IVF i was weighed at every appointment! They have always been strict about it. I knew 2 ppl that got rejected because of their weight.
