People’s terrible parking skills

I just started a new job that requires a lot more travel. After working from home for 6 years, I never really noticed how terrible people's parking skills have become! I'm talking about people who park across from junctions (fine if the road is wide enough, but on narrow streets, it's a total nightmare), on the corners of junctions (really?) and right up to dropped kerbs, making it difficult for others to get in and out of their driveways. I know this one isn't illegal, but people who park on the opposite side of the road when everyone else is parked on the other side? Why? You have to zigzag around them 😂. Do people really lack common sense now, or is it just laziness / selfishness?

I agree OP. The parking on our road is shocking. I don’t know how large vehicles or people in wheelchairs/with buggies cope. We do have a driveway which makes it easier but the neighbours’ parking makes it difficult to get on.

Oh 100% - it’s a skill that is severely lacking!

Especially locally we have problems with people that park anywhere and slap a blue badge on - I totally think there needs to be more accessible parking, but if it’s double yellows because it’s dangerous to park then it’s dangerous regardless of a badge! Over double yellows, on corners, on zig zags, on one ways narrow streets etc. It’s a minefield!

People are driving cars that are bigger than their ability level can manage and developments are being built with not enough parking so people park in random/inappropriate places.
