‘Talk me down’

It really winds me up when people use this phrase, at best it’s over-dramatic and attention seeking and at worst totally insensitive. AIBU to be sick of seeing it used on here usually for something that’s far from life-threatening/changing?

I reckon it's so commonly used that it's lost association to suicide.

It probably has but it just sounds so precious and self-absorbed.
