It's not the most detailed order because there's no volumes weights etc. But butter is butter. £1.76 for 2 packs.

Wowsers. I think butter has probably increased the most of all (along with Heinz products).

£1.76 for 2 packs of butter - those were the days!

In August 2015, NMW was £6.50 an hour, it's now £12.21

Electricity is also nearly double what it was 10 years ago.

These costs will both heavily impact the price of groceries.

£1.99 for one currently in Tesco. And not on any kind of offer

I'm really sorry my 54 year old brain can't remember what I ate on Christmas Day let alone what brand of butter I bought 11 years ago. 🤣

But probably Asda's own.

I did the same with an old grocery order, it was so cheap compared to now.

A pack of butter from Ocado was £2.85 in 2023, it's now £3.65 for the same butter

It was 2 for £2 fairly recently then 2 for £3 and then shot up in 2022

@Thirstycarrot That's for 200g though. Butter used to be 250g before shrinkflation.

@Thirstycarrot Asda butter is £3.94 for 500g, Asda Brilliantly Buttery is £0.85p for 500g.

500 g butter at Asda for 85 p? I don’t believe it.

I used to make Mars Bar Rice Krispies cake as a student, which was circa 2003-2006, and remember that butter used to be one of the cheaper elements. A 250g block of Tesco Value butter was 40p.

We're talking about butter not crappy spread.

@Magnesiumtime that’s not butter. It’s just spread. Vegetable oil with some buttermilk. It’s the generic equivalent of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter.
