To be annoyed at Aldi cashier?

I have a bad habit of starting/reading a recipe and then realizing I don't have an ingredient, so I run to Aldi and get it, super quick and convenient.

I was there on Dec 29th and the cashier asked if I thought I'd be back before 2026, and said "Let's try not to".

I'm paying for the service right? I'm usually there once a week or so.

Omg, I was in aldi last week and the cashier asked if I had much to do, when I told her she said "no rest for the wicked", couldn't believe the brazen cheek of her calling me wicked. I complained to the manager and she was sacked on the spot.

It's the only way to deal with these bloody cashiers and their small talk to be friendly towards customers 😡
