I have been up since 4 this morning and I haven't stopped one bit. Today I have
Painted spare bedroom ( was white and not much to move so didn't take long at all)
5 loads of washing and all put away
Deep clean of bathroom
changed 5 beds
Put new curtains up in living room
went to softplay with 3 kids
got weekly shopping from Tesco
Decutterd the hall cupboard and boys big toy box
Dinner in slow cooker

I feel great :) Anyone else had a positive day?

Wow! I got two kids out of bed and off to school, I've almost finished a day's work, I had a quick email chat with our mortgage broker and with DS's new form teacher and I spent 30 mins waiting for a government dept to answer the phone in order to have a 90 second chat to get information that should have been on its website.

That’s awesome! Getting up at 4am though… I hope that was your preference! Good use of time.

I’ve sat down most of the day filling in forms ahead of school Sen meetings and while not quite so productive, hopefully it will lead to some positive outcomes for the dc. I feel completely drained now.

InterestedDad37 · 05/01/2026 17:00

Yep - lazed in bed till midday, walked in the snow for an hour, got some milk from the shop, now home again 😊

randoname · 05/01/2026 17:00

Amazing! @SharpBrickMaker
Up at 7 for school run.
I cleared my chairdrobe, vacuumed throughout, took down the Christmas decorations and put out the Christmas tree and forensically cleaned with an ash vacuum the fireplace. Bar a zombie apocalypse never to be used again (clean air zone)
Also eleventy billion washes but they’re now an ironing/ putting away pile.
I also changed my bed and now I’m having a lie down. 😉

ShesTheAlbatross · 05/01/2026 17:02

You took three kids to soft play? So the rest of the time the children were there and you still managed to paint a room and declutter?? Impressive. My children alway scupper any decluttering by finding things that are their “absolute favourites” that I can’t possibly throw away 🙄

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 05/01/2026 17:03

I finished off the remnants of a big bag of crisps, and later ate a small pork pie.

I'm not sure what tomorrow holds for me.

Maybe she left them at the softplay?! 🤣

It’s definitely something I’ve considered in the past .

B1anche · 05/01/2026 17:04

No. I had good intentions but felt completely overwhelmed, so failed. How did you keep yourself motivated / decide what to prioritise?

Well done by the way!

currentlybrunette · 05/01/2026 17:05

You’ve done amazing. I barely made it through work Blush

WrylyAmused · 05/01/2026 17:09

Can I have some of what you're having, please?

Well done, sounds awesome!

fivetriangulartrees · 05/01/2026 17:10

Very impressive! I was late for work, got headhunted for a job I don't want (but annoyingly pays way more than mine) and bought some shoes in the wrong size.

Sunnymysunshine · 05/01/2026 17:30

Amazing, when you have a day like that then it's ok to have an off day too dont you think? I was up early to try and book a driving test for my son (impossible, any tips?) Then maybe 3 loads of washing, netflix, snow walk with dog, co-op shop because the car was not leaving the drive today, we are a few inches deep in snow, made a picnic 🤔 for 14yo to go out with her mate, god knows why. And same as you, food in slow cooker, smells good but im having wine first. Beds won't be done til end of week as im now washing blankets from mentioned picnic 🙃

SharpBrickMaker · 05/01/2026 17:33

Back to school and work tomorrow and with my time of the month near which I always get a sudden bust of energy for. It's funny really as not only I had the energy but my kids were being well behaved today. Trust me when I say today was a rare event which is why I feel so amazing cos of it

That’s amazing op. I did nothing compared to you! Did a school run, a nursery run, washed bottles, fed a baby, unloaded a dishwasher, loaded a dishwasher, washed and hung one laundry load, got some boxes down for Christmas decorations to go back into (no further), made some tea.

Icecreamhelps · 05/01/2026 19:58
