Should the person who earns more pay more for joint holiday friends not partners

Just that really.

2 friends going on holiday, should the person who earns more pay more say 75 ler cent of holiday cost, neither person wealthy, but one is part time and the other is full time so earns more.

Welcome thoughts as I am unsure.

SouthLondonMum22 · 04/01/2026 17:37

Absolutely not.

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 04/01/2026 17:37

Of course not!

PennyLaneisinmyheartandmysoul · 04/01/2026 17:37

Absolutely not! The part timer should do more hours/earn more. Which are you? Freeloader or Money bank?

Moonnstarz · 04/01/2026 17:37

Both person pays for them self, not sure why you would expect the higher earner to cover the other person

Potatoelephant · 04/01/2026 17:37

No way

Newyear26 · 04/01/2026 17:37

No can’t see why they would.

Bloodylovecheese · 04/01/2026 17:38

No, if they can't afford it they choose a cheaper holiday

Losingitalloveragain · 04/01/2026 17:38

no

BonnieWeeLass99 · 04/01/2026 17:38

No.

Doseofreality · 04/01/2026 17:38

No, and I would seriously reconsider a friendship if it was suggested to me.

GreenPoms · 04/01/2026 17:38

Of course not if it’s just friends. Who has suggested this to you? It’s major cheeky fuckery.

BMW6 · 04/01/2026 17:38

Absolutely 100% NO.

murasaki · 04/01/2026 17:38

No. Why should they?

TomatoSandwiches · 04/01/2026 17:38

No, in this scenario it's 50/50

BennyHenny · 04/01/2026 17:38

Nope, I’d not agree to this set up, regardless of which person I was in the equation.

Bruisername · 04/01/2026 17:38

On what basis? I can’t figure out how anyone would even consider it!!

NanFlanders · 04/01/2026 17:38

No.

MrsJPBP · 04/01/2026 17:39

Friends going on holiday pay for themselves. Why on earth would one friend pay for the other?

MoFadaCromulent · 04/01/2026 17:39

Laughable

ItsOnlyHobnobs · 04/01/2026 17:39

Nope.

Exception if one person wants to stay somewhere more luxurious and voluntarily makes upgrades and treats their friend.

TeaAndTattoos · 04/01/2026 17:39

If you one you can’t afford the holiday then they don’t go no one needs to go on holiday.

CharlotteUnaNatalieThompson · 04/01/2026 17:39

Only reason why the higher earner should pay more is if they were insistent on going ona holiday that was over budget for the other person, and this was clearly discussed and agreed.

Otherwise absolutely not, each person pays for themselves

Isit2026yet · 04/01/2026 17:39

No. 50/50.

evtheria · 04/01/2026 17:40

No. I say that as the person who would definitely, always be the person who earns less.
