Is AIBU mostly just a place to bitch about someone you know that has behaved in a way that didn’t meet your expectations? Is it your expectations that have led to your disappointment, rather than their behaviour? Something to think about…

I do think that some people use it because they expect that their opinion will be validated by people they don’t know on an internet forum and then they’re surprised and annoyed when the majority tell them they’re unreasonable and they only respond to the few who agree with them.

On the whole it’s not that deep. Just somewhere to offload.

I'm not sure about AIBU in particular, but I do agree that a lot of human disagreement is down to genuine differences in opinion and misaligned expectations rather than one person or group of people being objectively right and the other being objectively wrong.
