To wonder what US Trump voters think now

Their country's reputation trashed. The man they voted for heavily implicated in the Epstein scandal. Contempt shown to them abroad.
About to completely shift Ukraine. Enabling Netanyahu to commit mass murder of children with their tax dollars. No roaring economy. The environment fucked probbaky beyond saving due to their inaction.
What, in all honesty, do the 75 million who have caused this catastrophe think?

Did you watch any of her interviews?

Well I'm not American so I didn't watch all her interviews - no. From what I saw she didn't claim to be the bestest person that ever lived and she is a woman so she lost.

Did you watch her being interviewed on the US programme The View?
🤣🤣🤣 O.M.G.!!!!!!
She was asked whether she would have done anything differently to President Biden over the past four years. After thinking very hard for a few seconds and stuttering to come up with an answer, she said: “There is nothing that comes to mind”…absolute tumbleweed moment. 😀

‘Expat’ is a loaded term generally used for educated, middle class, privileged people on temporary assignments to achieve particular career goals. Immigrants tend to stay much longer - they usually intend to stay permanently.

But somehow, expats are good and immigrants are bad.

Correct. It really do be like that.

Edited

I did. I followed the election lead up quite enthusiastically. Kamala’s problem was definitely not that she was a women. It’s that she was incompetent. I actually felt embarrassed and quite sorry for her. And then bringing out Beyoncé…I think that summed up the Democrat party’s priorities and how they viewed the world. It was shameful and takes the public for idiots. But The View, always provides a good laugh! And Kamala didn’t disappoint. And the crazy thing was that no one could accuse The View of being right wing media could they!!

And yet you’re not keen on expats being in the US?

You know, the skilled foreign workers on H1B visas for temporary work assignments that you think shouldn’t be there?

Sounds a bit hypocritical …

Oh no, nothing to do with having a vagina, do you think there will ever be female president then?

The correct term is expat

You’re an immigrant.

24kPalamino · 05/01/2026 16:01

It seems to depend now.
Women, for example, were losing their rights quite quickly not so long ago, and that just wasn’t a popular issue to pick up for a long while.
People genuinely don’t feel safe in the UK at the moment, but the rights of illegal migrants trump them according to the human rights lawyers. So you haven’t convinced me I’m afraid.

Speak for yourself. I don’t feel unsafe in the UK and if I did it would have zilch to do with illegal immigrants.

I think a female president is well overdue. But that doesn’t mean I think they should pick any female. Kamala was genuinely not very good and people didn’t respect her or think she was capable. She was nicknamed the cackling idiot - which I don’t think was right, but sums up the general feelings for her. I would love to see a good female president. But they need to pick and put money into someone strong, clear at communicating and unapologetic.
When that will happen I don’t know. And that could be a problem and a whole other thread. But I hope to see a good female president in my lifetime.

Totally agree. Nothing, absolutely nothing could have made her a stronger candidate not even over $1 billion her and her team spent on her election campaign !!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yes it’s a word some white immigrants use to set themselves apart from brown and black immigrants. But if you move from one country to live in a other you are an immigrant.

I think permanence is a fair distinction but that’s rarely how it’s applied in practice.

Goldenbear · 05/01/2026 16:18

Anyone with an ounce of nous would know that her being a woman was the main issue!

I am not sure it’s that simple. Clinton secured more votes than Trump in 2016.

I think she was shoe horned in too late (without going through the primary process) so was never seen as a viable candidate.

Agreed. Someone's really watching too much Fox news. Our knife crime is lower than that in the US and they shoot each other as well. There are many things wrong with our country but feeling safe or not isn't one of them, especially when compared to America

Yes but there is the quiet but she is not saying out loud as to her issue with H1B visa “expats….”

Really can't see it happening in the US, they would see it as being too liberal

I actually think the USA is further from having a female leader than it was.

Speak for yourself. I don’t feel unsafe in the UK and if I did it would have zilch to do with illegal immigrants.

Well actually I do feel unsafe. I used to go into town on a Friday or Saturday evening, dressed up, glam for a night out. My friends and I wouldn’t do it now. Too many large groups of men hanging around and following the women. So the town is pretty much dead. It’s quite sad. That is what happens when you literally dump large groups of men in a small place, with nothing productive to do. And in many cases, they are not culturally aware when it comes to British women, which I don’t necessarily blame them for. That is their understanding and they have never lived differently.
But, it is very intimidating and still makes me feel unsafe.

You might ask why don’t I feel that way with British men (of any race btw)? Well my experience is that many British men can be complete arses. But generally the real weirdos were few and far between and the others were out for the same good night as us. Groups were much smaller and you could generally tell them to get lost, and largely they’d slink away. We never got followed. And we could understand what they were saying to each other too. When people speak in a different language to each other, and you don’t know what they are saying or if it’s about you, it can be a scary thing. I suspect that would be true regardless of culture, or ethnicity.
There are issues and they need to be talked about.
