To wonder what US Trump voters think now

Their country's reputation trashed. The man they voted for heavily implicated in the Epstein scandal. Contempt shown to them abroad.
About to completely shift Ukraine. Enabling Netanyahu to commit mass murder of children with their tax dollars. No roaring economy. The environment fucked probbaky beyond saving due to their inaction.
What, in all honesty, do the 75 million who have caused this catastrophe think?

Trump arrangement syndrome I suggest you go away and have a look at the history of Caracas and what's going on there this was a precision Targeted incident in Caracas because he is trying to protect the USA from crime and drug trafficking do not comment until you know more about what has gone on in Caracas over decades with the corruption, fixed elections you name it - do some homework Before your ignorance blinds you completely

thankyouforyourpunctuation

OhDear111 · 05/01/2026 12:25

The main thing to hope for is that middle America is appalled. He’s not getting enough states by just getting MAGA votes. Plus he cannot run again - watch this space though. The Republicans need to wrest back control. Quickly.

Many Americans are wholly insular. They don’t give a shiny shit about Ukraine or Gaza or international law. It’s a well known political ploy to get a war going or a show of force to alter conversations. Thatcher had the Falkland Islands. Will China invade Taiwan? International law no longer matters it appears.

The worrying thing is that he’s turning into an elected dictator. Americans should be very afraid and there’s a risk they won’t see the back of him come the next candidate round.

That’s quite a rude way to talk about the vast majority of American voters, who were clearly feeling that the previous administration wasn’t working for them.

The democrats certainly weren’t doing a sterling job as far as Americans were concerned.

And one night suggest that British voters were quite “dense” for voting in this bunch of amateurs, who seem to have absolutely no idea about what they are doing, and are making the UK a pretty depressing place to live for a lot of people.

So, it’s not really about being “dense” is it. It’s about personal priorities and values. Trump is offering the American people what Biden wouldn’t and if they are happy with that, who are we to call them stupid or dense?

"vast"?

Trump secured less than 50% of votes cast (49.8% to be specific).

How on earth does that equate to the “vast majority of voters”?

Anyone who voted for him a third time is cheering the fucker on still because they are quite frankly brained washed, stupid, corrupt or too rich to care.

I only regret that I didn’t vote for him in 2016. I thought he was a joke. But he was actually pretty good all things considered so went through all the effort to register and send an overseas ballot.

sleepwouldbenice · 05/01/2026 12:49

JHound · 05/01/2026 12:15

One thing I will give Trump is he is brilliant at building a cult.

There is not one thing Trump could do that would turn MAGAts off him.
Will maybe if he gave black Americans reparations. But seriously I think his voters and supporters will not care. They will support everything he does. Even if he illegally seized a third term his supporters will defend it.

I am hopeful the state of his health will deal with the 3rd term crap. Although appreciate Vance is the prat in waiting

sleepwouldbenice · 05/01/2026 12:52

RingoJuice · 05/01/2026 11:25

Haven’t rtft but I’m very happy with my vote.

Over 2 million illegals have gone home. Gas is much cheaper. Food prices are somewhat cheaper (according to my family anyway) Immigration from some of the worst countries on the planet has been halted. Crime is down (lefties changing course have been the root of some of this, not just the new admin).

I guess I think he’s not gone far enough in some aspects—I want a complete ban on H1B labor (this is a category of temp workers) and to defund the refugee NGOs. No public funds or public schooling for children of illegals. Get rid of federal judges. Much remains to be seen.

Don't give a damn what you do to yourselves. Insular doesn't cover it..

SuperbMum1 · 05/01/2026 13:16

@24kPalamino Trump secured less than 50% of votes cast (49.8% to be specific).

But I believe he won 31states out of 50 (that is 62%!) and Kamala only won 19. 12 of those 19 states with no document requirement. Only 2 of Trumps 31 states with no document required.

Do you know how many people actually voted for Labour in last elections? Labour secured only 33.7 % of the national vote. Yet it ended up with 411 out of 650 seats in the House of Commons, roughly 63 % of the seats!

Kamala won more votes where ID and photo ID was not required.

loosestrife · 05/01/2026 13:36

24kPalamino · 04/01/2026 12:22

In fairness it’s because the facts are not important to us. He won the election. Who cares by how much? It’s a case of thank God the previous administration is gone.

People genuinely felt worse off under the democrats. Men were allowed in women’s sports. The country was flooded by millions of illegal immigrants, some who raped and murdered innocent Americans, some of who caused terrible accidents resulting in death.

The previous administration was not kinder or nicer. So people are happy with their choice and there is nothing you can say or do to change that. If Trump proves to be awful over the coming years, people will change their mind won’t they. In the meantime, your ‘facts’ about voter numbers or health insurance are neither here nor there.

This poster's syntax and punctuation isn't even slightly American so evidently a bot or paid stooge.

Then why participate on a thread musing over what Trump voters are thinking now? I feel I can directly answer that query, given I’m a 2x Trump voter …

You don't have to tell us how skewed the US electoral system is. Cornfields basically get votes...

How can you be a 2 x Trump voter?

You said yourself you weren’t registered to vote in 2016?

HamptonPlace · 05/01/2026 13:54

24kPalamino · 04/01/2026 11:41

No I’m not American. Though I spend a significant portion of my time there, largely in the South.

I am British, centre right politically and grateful that Trump is in power. Or I feel the left leaning government of the UK would be making this place a bigger mess than it already is.

centre right tends to mean... eugenics isn't all that bad, is it? I mean, eating pork is a MINIMUM commitment one has to have to live in this country...

RingoJuice · 05/01/2026 13:58

DdraigGoch · 05/01/2026 13:48

"Pretty good"? He did exactly what every other Republican president has ever done and wrecked a strong economy.

My stock portfolio says otherwise. Wages were rising with none of the inflation at the time (though yes, COVID measures were to blame for that one). Used to go home with empty bags, fill it up with cheap stuff; I no longer do that for the most part because it’s all got so expensive. Now I just buy more niche items you can’t get elsewhere.

What other Republican presidents do is immaterial to me. I never voted for any GOP prior to Trump. They were shit too.

If he gave a shit about what is "going on in Caracas" he would have put the opposition leader in power. But he won't, because she beat him to the Nobel Peace Prize, petty repugnant toad that he is.

Yeah I didn’t vote for him in 2016. I didn’t vote at all. I voted in 2020 and 2024.

But then did, not many do two non consecutive terms. Biden staying in that long when not well didn’t help.

24kPalamino · 04/01/2026 12:12

He chose that job. No one forced him to become a human rights lawyer.
he either did it because that’s what he believes in. Or because he could see the easy money to be made off the British taxpayer.

do humans not have rights?

Harris didn’t get much time to campaign - if Biden had stepped down sooner she would have been a stronger candidate.

I will never, ever understand women voting for a man convicted of sexually abusing a woman. Ever. (Waiting for MAGA sympathisers to tell me the jury were corrupt, she was older than 10 etc.).

Idk sounds like you prefer it if America was more insular. Well I do too tbh

Sartre · 05/01/2026 14:42

Some are as deranged as him, some have a low IQ, some lack critical thought, some are mega nationalists, some are far right evangelical nuts, some just buy into and are majorly swayed by propaganda perpetuated by social media.

Lots of reasons for still supporting Trump. What he did in Venezuela was clearly illegal but Maduro is also a criminal and dictator who has plunged the country into poverty - he won’t be missed.

Not a Trump fan by the way but I understand why he still has some support. He’s flagging in the polls though due to cost of living crisis.
