www.microsoft.com/virtualearth/

like google earth except far mor detailed.
you don't have to download anything just run it from that link.
it's cool for looking up monumens but i have just scoped out my house and the detail too much. apart from showing my car in it, the areal photo is just far too detailed.
pretty much provides a "how to burgle my house" now all a local srote with an internet access hs to do is type in my adress to find the best access points

microsoft is 2000 for my house. google earth about 2002/3

RustyBear · 12/06/2008 23:17

MS one is much older for our area - the extension at school isn't there & that was started at least 6 years ago & it looks like the pampas grass is still on our front lawn & we got rid of that at least 8 years ago.
I can't get the bird's eye view, it's greyed out - do you have to install the software to see it?

wheresthehamster · 12/06/2008 23:18

Yikes! You can actually see the crap in our garden

The aerial view of our house is at least 3 years old because we still have our side garden. The bird's eye view actually shows the house that was built on it 3 years ago.

charliecat · 12/06/2008 23:22

I think its quite scary. Not sure why.

misdee · 12/06/2008 23:23

SGK, you go to find information basic then find location. have found your house. its from before the school was built, and i dont think u had moved in as nothing in your back garden. and the turf looks alive lol.

SparklyGothKat · 12/06/2008 23:26

yes found it! Looks like it was just before we moved in.

SparklyGothKat · 12/06/2008 23:30

am LOL at all the trampolines in everyones gardens....

FAQ · 13/06/2008 00:16

Just looked at Google - definitely more recent.

Definitely in the last 3 1/2yrs.

Actually I'm a tad confused - H and I are obviously sat at the table in the garden - but I can't figure out where he'd parked his car!! It's not outside the house

FAQ · 13/06/2008 00:21

actually that's been quite useful looking at Google Earth (which is definitely clearer than Microsoft) - I've been meaning to check with the school how far the path between my house/garden wall and the school hall is......as I need to have one part of the wall on that side repointed.

Was hoping they didn't have any sheds/outbuildings too far along - but they do.......so even if they agree to have scaffolding up during the holidays at some point I'm not sure they'd be able to get the scaffolding along far enough

mimi03 · 13/06/2008 03:29

Well i hope they dont ban it cos my hubby works for them taking the images! btw, the close up images that u are talking about are not from a satalitte, thats my fella flying all over the country taking pics of you all!
