Or as the coroner has suggested to regulate the industry?

justasking111 · 02/01/2026 23:22

Should be charged with manslaughter at the very least

Pollqueen · 02/01/2026 23:27

This will never happen. Best we can hope for is regulation of the industry

DameOfThrones · 02/01/2026 23:27

There's already a thread on this here OP.

So heart breaking.

@OneGreySeal but it is an unnecessary procedure, so should be banned, unless person is able to give consent ( and parents’ consent for non medical procedure should not count)

MeouwKing · 02/01/2026 23:30

Sorry, I will join the other thread.

I understand your view on it but a vast majority of society will not and therefore regulation is the best course.

JamesClyman · 03/01/2026 11:57

Unlike the US, circumcision - other than for religious reasons - is not common in the UK. Out of my class at secondary school (32 boys) only 3 were circumcised - I wasn't one of them - and two of those were Jews.

I agree it is totally un-necessary.

I disagree that the vast majority of society support circumcision first non-medical (ie religious!) reasons

AgnesMcDoo · 03/01/2026 12:00

Agreed 👍

What evidence do you have that a vast majority of UK society will disagree? I don't believe that for a second. I strongly agree OP that it should be banned.

Salvadoridory · 03/01/2026 12:11

Ban it for religious purposes? All religions?

whatcanthematterbe81 · 03/01/2026 13:36

Fucking hate myself every day for letting my babies paternal side bully me into having this done. We’re supposed to protect our kids and I let them mutilate him. He is fine but I said no with child no 2. He can decide when he’s old enough to

OnePurpleVegetable · 08/01/2026 10:32

I didn’t realise it’s available on the NHS in Scotland Angry
