To think most people shouldn’t give advice?

People with messy finances give money advice.
People with chaotic love lives give relationship advice.
People with no expertise give medical advice.

AIBU to think wisdom is rare but advice is everywhere?

With people in person the vast majority of the time they just wanted to be listened to and empathized with. They aren't expecting a solution and I've really struggled with people that think giving any solution (however poorly thought out and crap) is better than just being a listening ear. Unless you've really got some great insight or an instantly solving life hack just listen and be sympathetic.

This is so true.
Most people seem to be rubbish at it though.
