I’m 5ft 1 female

weighed myself this morning and was

  1. stone 4

on the scales in Boots!

This is the highest number I’ve seen on the scales in my life.

Yesterday I

stuck to 1200 cals a day diet

Drank 2 litres of water

exercised - jogging albeit very slowly - for 40 mins

Did some much needed housework!

im on a mission to lose weight and get fit in 2025 - doing weights and cardio 💪

Good luck to all of us on same mission !

You are not embracing it. You are trying to change it?

Yes - totally true.

I suppose when I said ‘embrace’ I meant accept it for what it is and face the music - then strive hard to get the weight off

OP, is there a reason you wouldn't try weight-loss injections? I was about your weight 18 months ago and have lost 4.5 stone and kept it off. I succumbed to the higher power that was Mounjaro!

Congratulations on your weight loss🎉🎉💪

The reason I won’t try WLI is because I’ve managed to lose weight from

15 stone 1 to 7 stone 7 - as an adult - totally on calorie control and exercise alone ! - this was in 2003/4

Maybe because op doesn’t want to add to a global shortage so people with diabetes still have them readily available

I don't mean to this to sound negative, but women's body change so much in 20+ years, so don't expect the same things to work like they did in 2003! I found this out the hard way, and also succombed to MJ last year - best thing I did. It's not the easy way out as some people claim, but definitely really helps to kick start things. And the effect it has on your blood sugar is the key thing to weight loss for a lot of people. especially if you just stick to a low dose..

That's not what all WLI are, eg Wygovy FYI

It's not a key drug for most type 2 diabetics though, only for people whose BMI is over 40. There is no global shortage for diabetics - where are you getting that info from?

BeQuirkyMintScroller · 02/01/2026 14:53

Checking in and reporting for duty at 191 lbs. 🫡(About 13 stone.)

Also the heaviest i have ever been.

I have 47 ish lbs to lose which should take the best part of a year.

Week 0 = four rounds of "stop eating so much crap!"

I am Starting by just cutting the obvious; cakes, biscuits, chocolate, second helpings, booze. plenty of time to put myself on steamed fish and veg later when i need to up the ante

patooties · 02/01/2026 14:53

How sanctimonious! I’m sure ‘big pharma’ could make as much as they wanted - but restricting control induces demand and therefore $$$

I have no issue with anyone taking mounjairo - but if this lady can use it to prevent herself becoming a type 2 diabetic then surely it’s to be applauded?

I'm thinking of joining you. I want to try to live a healthier lifestyle. I'm sure I'll lose some weight but probably not a great deal. My blood sugar is all over the place and I get bad hypos, and injections aren't currently an option. I haven't really considered them, so I don't know if I'd take them anyway.

melisma · 02/01/2026 15:32

Joining you! I am doing 16:8 fasting, upping steps and also on about 1300 calories. I am 5ft 11 and 16 st 10. I've done it before and am determined to do it again. We can!

There is no global shortage - don’t be ridiculous.

Dollyfloss · 02/01/2026 18:22

OP - well done for realising you need to do something about your weight. At a bmi of 40 you’re in the obese category and obviously this isn’t healthy as I’m sure you already know.

Good luck with whatever method you use - and should you decide to try MJ u can highly recommend it!

MyBrightPeer · 02/01/2026 18:22

Embrace the motivation - you’ve got this.
