to ask about care of a temporary tooth?

Hi, an older person had most of his tooth break off.
His dentist can treat him with a new crown, and until the appointment (first week of next year) has had a temporary tooth put in.
He has been advised that the temp can last as little as a day, or as long as a week.
i suspect that might depend on if he goes over to eating soft foods in the interim.
So, he’s worried if he can use his electric toothbrush on that temp tooth, as of course he doesn’t want to disturb it to fall out.
I couldn’t advise him, as no experience.
Is there anyone who has had a temp tooth, and can say whether it’s safe to brush as usual, or to avoid that singular tooth?
Many thanks to anyone who can share their experience.
I can then advise person.

I personally didn't brush mine and I made sure i didnt eat on that side. You can buy temporary kits in case it falls out. I had a temporary one last a month during the pandemic, but I've also had one last just a couple of days.
