To feel so useless

Feeling sorry for myself tonight, I’ve not been well for the past few weeks with low iron and I’ve had bad symptoms.
I had cancer 4 years ago and the symptoms are so similar and it’s bringing horrible memories back and I just feel so useless.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're feeling this way OP. At this time of year it's really easy to end up feeling a bit down, there are so many viruses around, and with the lack of sunlight, and cold miserable weather, its easy to feel like life isn't worth living, especially when you're not feeling well. Have you talked to your doctor about this, or have the feelings of uselessness only just begun? If you haven't already, do please go and talk to someone, particularly if you need reassurance that it's not the cancer come back, you may need some anti-depressants for a while. Do you take a vitamin D supplement, as we should all take it here in the UK, especially during the winter months? Also, are you well enough to get out and get a bit of fresh air, as if you can manage a little walk, preferably in a park or woods, somewhere in nature, I've found that that can often make me feel better, when I get like this. Above all, just remember that you're not alone, I'm here for you, and I'm sure others will be too. Sending a feel better hug your way.
