Thought id "treat"the DC today. Until I saw the price! WHO IS SPENDING 7.49 ON 3 DONUTS???

Are they worth it?? How can they be?

(Ive never had one...)

If I can be bothered, I claim the free one on my birthday just to remind myself how awful they are. 😆 Same with Lidl, you can also get a free one if you spend £10. It’s worth picking the donut, just to remember what you’re not missing. Doughnuts are marginally better but only every so often as a reminder of the 1980s!

caramac04 · 30/12/2025 09:22

I’ve never eaten one but the deliberate poor spelling is enough to put me off.

Superfrog3 · 30/12/2025 09:25

They used to be lovely and worth the money as a little treat but the flavour has gone right down and the price way up!

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 30/12/2025 09:34

They are awful. Ridiculously sweet and very soggy!

Readyforarefresh · 30/12/2025 09:38

I used to love them but I’m not sure if they changed the recipe or if my tastebuds have changed but I find them disgusting now.

Sainsbury’s jam donuts are lovely and they are £1.20 for 5.

macshoto · 30/12/2025 12:25

Echo the love for the Fisher and Donaldson’s fudge doughnut - although haven’t had one for many years! Was a favoured treat from the Physics department common room / coffee shop.

If in London, Oxford or Cambridge, I found Crosstown doughnuts to be a much better alternative to Krispy Kreme.

TomatoSandwiches · 30/12/2025 18:57

I'm not keen at all on filled doughnuts, the filling is too concentrated in one small area, it's not even enough to satisfy my sensory needs of equal texture for each bite iykwim?

Weallknowhesafloppypurplehairedposeur · 01/01/2026 14:06

There are others I prefer but I don't think the price was bad?

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 01/01/2026 14:07

They used to do nice ones with a sweet white filling.

When i worked in a big office they were always a go to for a birthday treat. Double dozen.

Motomum23 · 01/01/2026 14:21

I tried Krispy Kreme when they opened a new shop in my local town centre - £15 on donuts for the family of 6.... nice enough for sweet/sickly donuts but on par with if not slightly less nice than ones from Greg's next door.... by the looks of the footfall in this newly opened shop nearly everyone feels the same as it was very busy for maybe a month and now it's almost always empty.

soupyspoon · 01/01/2026 14:23

About 10 years ago a colleague was shocked I had never had one and raved about them and said I must try one

I had one bite

Disgusting.

Arlanymor · 01/01/2026 14:30

The only good doughnuts are ones that are fresh - my local market does them and they are out of this world... this is what real doughnuts look like...

They do look very impressive 👏

MsSeuss · 01/01/2026 16:32

I don’t mind the raspberry glazed but they are ridiculously priced so seldom get them.

I don't even really have a sweet tooth - but these are amazingly good and the smell as I walk past their stand pulls me in!

soupyspoon · 01/01/2026 16:37

The only good doughnuts are the old fashioned heavy ones with jam in the middle, usually only now found at some bakers called Babs Baps or something like that.

cupfinalchaos · 01/01/2026 16:47

The worst of the worst.. trans fats, palm oil and dodgy colours. I prefer food.

Illbethereinaminute · 01/01/2026 16:55

Love the biscoff and the pistachio ones, none of the others really take my fancy. Sky high in calories but since I only ever have a couple every 6 months or so it's not something I'm going to worry about. It's my every day food that is too high in calories, 4 doughnuts a year are nothing in comparison.

Fingalscave · 01/01/2026 17:24

Tim Horton's or Morrisons are my favourites. Both much nicer than KK.

AliTheMinx · 01/01/2026 18:31

My son loves them, and they are popular with his friends in lieu of birthday cake. The glazed ones are lovely and our faves are the chocolate sprinkles. They are so expensive, that we only have them very occasionally as a treat.

littlemousebigcheese · 02/01/2026 12:59

They’re not nice at all! Stodgy, overly sweet, horrid. Nothing beats a hot fresh donut dipped in sugar!

surreygirly · 02/01/2026 13:15

They are overpriced rubbish
Same as coffee shops
But they attract mugs

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 02/01/2026 13:46

I don't like jam doughnuts but I'll have a Krispy Kreme if I'm anywhere near a shop. I live in the middle of nowhere so it would only be a couple of times a year, but if I fancy one I'll have one. Not dead yet.

I'm sure some stuff you buy others would consider overpriced rubbish for mugs.
